Parade To The Arena is a high-energy Spanish/Latin style piece for marching band. It depicts the celebratory parade through the streets of town to the arena of the day's various sporting events. The opening section is the parade itself of the participants and citizens, with themes of pride, anticipation and athleticism. Once in the arena, the tempo and excitement pick up with various group features and heavy percussion depicting the action of the events.

The Wide Waters is an intermediate work for concert band written after a particularly challenging season of Hurricanes in Florida and the Gulf Coast in 2017. It musically describes the arrival, damage and departure of the storms. Utilizing elements of the Scottish folk song The Water Is Wide, the piece was inspired by the spirit of the residents of these areas show a determination to support one another through a deep sense of community in soldiering the storms and helping one another to clean up neighborhoods and rebuild homes and lives.

José Gaspar, literally the last of the Buccaneers, plundered and terrorized the southwest coast of Florida in the late 18th and early 19th centirues. While the truth of the many stories about his life is debatable, he became known as the pirate Gasparilla, from which the famous (or perhaps, infamous) Gasparilla Festival held annually in Tampa, Florida took its name. Much folklore exists about Gasparilla, including that he established a pirate kingdom in a mysterious location in Florida, became terrifically wealthy from plundering ships and holding hostages for ransom, and that he jumped from his ship and drowned rather than be captured by the U.S. Navy in 1821. The piece features many pirate and nautical themes easily playable by 2nd and 3rd year bands, along with a wealth of sound effects from percussion and optional synthesizer.
