The best-known recording of the song was done by Jimmie Rodgers, which was a gold record. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We added what we think are some pretty cool left-hand fills that we hope you will like! It's a fun song and not too hard to play!

The Victorian Christmas Melodies

60 Victorian Christmas Melodies for Harmonium or American Organ without lyrics.

This is the Christmas edition in our ´Victorian´ series for harmonium or reed organ which contains 60  harmonised carol melodies. We have not included the lyrics as this publication is mainly intended for instrumental performance.

The carols may be repeated according to the number of verses indicated in brackets at the beginning of each piece.

The selection represents the carols best known and loved by the Victorians, many having been introduced by Prince Albert himself from Germany. We have kept the original titles in German, Latin or English.

These are easy to medium arrangements also suitable for piano, keyboard or organ.

Peg O' My Heart is a popular song written by Alfred Bryan (words) and Fred Fisher (music). It was published on March 15, 1913 and it was featured in the 1913 musical Ziegfeld Follies. The song was inspired by the main character in the very successful Broadway play of the time, Peg o' My Heart, that debuted December 20, 1912 at the Cort Theatre in NYC. The play was written by J. Hartley Manners and starred Laurette Taylor in the title role. Taylor appeared on the cover of early published sheet music. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We also added some left-hand fills to keep the rhythm moving along. We hope you like what we've done with the song!

By Andy Kirk & His 12 Clouds Of Joy. By Alberta Nichols, L.E. Freeman, Mann Holiner, Sammy Cahn, and Saul Chaplin. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 3 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #879734. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1288894).

In 1931, Alberta Nichols wrote the music and Mann Holiner wrote the words for a song titled Till the Real Thing Comes Along which was featured in a Broadway revue titled Rhapsody in Black. The review, produced by Lew Leslie, was similar to the famous Blackbirds reviews of the late 1920s and 1930s, and featured Ethel Waters, who introduced Till the Real Thing Comes Along. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements and was developed from the 1936 sheet music. We also added some pretty cool left-hand fills to keep things moving along smoothly. We hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!
