Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533343). Tuba and euphonium quartet inspired bymy story The Duchess' Tuneto quote:The mountaineers headed downhill for two days, with no idea where to find the first outposts of civilization, but eventually they heard a long low sound as if of a thousand snoring Yeti. There was a monastery - .... The original tune is an expansion of a short atonal melodyhanded to me on a scrap of paper 40 years ago by afellow student (known to all as The Princess).Initially it developed into a guitar solo but it has now also blossomed into a tuba quartet. In both cases, the atonal melody flowered into something more tonal and interesting.

Gauntlett, and Henry John Gauntlett. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Christian,Christmas,Religious,Romantic Period,Sacred. Individual part. 3 pages. RBMusic #6189995. Published by RBMusic (A0.752433). Once in Royal David’s City is a Christmas carol with words by Cecil Frances Alexander (nee Humphreys) and music by Henry John Gauntlett. The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the King's College Chapel Cambridge has begun its Christmas Eve service of this carol, since 1919, as the Processional hymn. According to tradition, the soloist of this carol is chosen on the day of the performance. It was the first recoding that the King's College Choir made for EMI in 1948. This listing is for treble-clef instruments and can be used as either a lead sheet or a solo part (with or without accompaniment – accompaniment not provided). It includes an optional, virtuosic variation of the melody, ideal for solo performances. This version is in G major (written pitch). A recording of the original carol can be found here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT3cfXd3Shk.
