Traditional string quartet with opt. violin part for viola. The piece is rendered as a march with the tune clearly stated in the first violin and then becomes more chordal in the upper three parts. A transition is now presented in an imitation of parts with dynamic changes for interest and further then the cello takes over with the tune while the upper parts give harmonic support. The piece progresses to be more block in harmonic and rhythmical structure only to be turned over to imitation in the melodic material. The coda section is much like the introduction material and builds in dynamic force, only to be concluded with a pizzicato final note.

An accompanied brass quartet for two trumpets with opt. horn and BHTC with piano. The opening is a fanfare with resolve. The first rendition of the tune is passed between parts in a somewhat hocket fashion where it continues throughout. The second section is more chordal with the accompaniment more march and fanfare like. Then a brief transition in the piano only is joined by the brass in a cascading series of entrances. Then the brass join the piano in a Q/A transition leading into a choral presentation of the theme. After a motivic interplay of the brass the piece concludes in an augmented statement in the brass.

Another modulation? Yes and this time introducing Angels From The Realms Of Glory The final section is imitative with brief snatches of Joy To The World!.

A traditional brass quintet with an optional baritone part which allows to be a sextet as well. The beginning is active establishing a happy beginning to the piece. Then all the parts are in straight harmonies and then become fragmented. A modulation takes place allowing the lower voices to carry the tune. Then a tuba sola solo commences with light upper parts decorating the lines, until the parts fragment. This concludes with a modulation with motivic statements. After a brief intermission the piece takes off again with the tune in the lower voices and the trumpets add a flurry descants. As the piece comes to a close more and more voices add to the mix until the pieces adds a solid, grand statement.

Moving and affective this solo begins unaccompanied and then later joined by the piano in a Celtic style. A second statement of the tune is further embellished and gains more complexity as it progresses. After a brief modulation the solo line becomes more plaintive- even though still embellished. The Coda is based on a brief motif where it ritards into a gentle repose.

Three Plus Flutes for three soprano with opt. 4th/ob. with alto and bass & piccolo. The piece gins in a spritely duet in the upper voices and reverses roles with the lower voices carrying the melody and duet lines. All four voices now join in a smooth, serene fashion until it gains dynamic and harmonic strength. A modulation upward with the tune in voice two, and an obbligato-like movement in part one, while the lower parts underpin with a simplistic, though active line. In the last section the parts become more active and excitement abounds until a final flourish establishes the end.

After a brief transition in a new key we find Just Over In The Glory Land in a more flowing style than the earlier tunes. The Coda section becomes my rhythmically active where it ends on a solid chord .

The piece begins with a motive that is imitative and builds in intensity until the theme is presented in the trombone with punctuations from the upper voices. It continues much in this manner until the chorus erupts in block harmonies. After a modulation and meter change, the trio presents a fanfare style until it abruptly reverts to the original meter. And then a more solemn manner, all the while gaining strength until a conclusive ending.
