Four Plus Brass Series- for two Trumpets and two Trombones (with opt. Horn and Tuba for color). The piece begins in a trumpet duet fashion and then echoed back in similar manner by the trombones. The next section is tossed about with bell like support motives, only to be broken down in motives and passed around the various voices. A modulation takes place and pieces like the beginning are once again presented and then back to the motive repeats bringing the piece to a strong conclusion.

This solo with piano begins with a straight forward introduction in the piano and then sets a solemn mood for the soloist. First plaintive and then with more deviation of the tune. The second section of the piece is stronger and with an almost obbligato treatment of the tune increasing in activity until it concludes on a strong high point.

A traditional brass quintet with opt. trumpet for horn and extra baritone for use as a sextet. The introduction uses extraneous material where it leads in the first theme by the trombone until the trumpets and horn take over. Since the piece is very much in a march style the first chorus is stated in the trumpets and horn lines with counterlines in the lower brass. A brief modulation takes place where the horn gets the tune in an expressive style only to modulate to a new section with the theme in the trumpet/trombone where it all leads to a climatic point, then followed by a series of cascading chords ending with diverging chromatic scales ending in a solid chord.

This quintet (opt. Sextet) begins with extraneous motifs leading into the first statement of the theme in the low brass offset by answering material in the trumpets. The pieces continues in this question and answer texture passing motivic material around the parts. Then in a transition mimicking the beginning a modulation takes place where the theme is more expressive and becomes more aggressive leading up to a majestic coda where it ends on a thought-provoking conclusion.

Originally in a duple meter this arrangement very cleverly is in a 6-8 march style. It progresses in a rather processional manner and then transitions to a slower reflective expression. The piece returns to its former style and then ends on a declarmatory note.

The next section is an question/answer form with the soloist alternating against the flute and piano. The third section pairs the solo line and descant in much the same manner as the opening. The piece comes to a subtle conclusion. The piece, as a whole depicts a bird flying and flittering about in glee.

A modulation upward with the tune in voice two, and an obbligato-like movement in part one, while the lower parts underpin with a simplistic, though active line. In the last section the parts become more active and excitement abounds until a final flourish establishes the end.
