Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1397338 By Dean Gilbert. By Dean Gilbert. 21st Century,Contemporary,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Score. 4 pages. Dean Gilbert #980654. Published by Dean Gilbert (A0.1397338). Many Michiganders have enjoyed a beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan.  A few years ago, Jill and I rented a condo for a week in Petoskey.  The condo was right next to the state park.  Every night we would walk to the beach in the state park and watch the sunset over Lake Michigan.  This music reflects that sunset ritual.  The opening begins with the waves gently crashing on the beach churning up the sand.  The first theme begins as the sun sits low in the sky creating a great sparkle across the water.  An interlude descends down the piano as the sun dips lower in the sky.  The main theme is heard again an octave lower as the sun sits even lower in the sky.  The music begins to build excitement as the sun begins its final descent to the water.  When the bottom of the sun connects with the water, the crowd begins to cheer.  With every crash of waves, the sun sinks into the water of Lake Michigan.  The sun disappears and we once again hear the main theme another octave lower as daylight disappears.  The dark sets in and we can only hear the gentle crashing of the waves on the beach.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1043795 By Gordon Lightfoot. By Gordon Lightfoot. Arranged by Dean Gilbert. Folk. Score. 6 pages. Dean Gilbert #648473. Published by Dean Gilbert (A0.1043795). Forty-five years ago, on November 10, 1975 29 crew members lost their lives on the Edmund Fitzgerald sailing across Lake Superior. I took Gordon Lightfoot's beautiful song and turned it into my own piano arrangement. You will notice that the ship bell is heard throughout the song. This song is in six parts. The summon begins with the ship's bell ringing summoning everyone to gather for a story, Next is The Voyage Begins with a calm Lake Superior. The ship bell rings again announce heavy seas ahead and we are now into the next section called The Storm Begins. The bell continues to ring warning the crew of heavy waves. The next section is called The Gales of November. The intensity picks up. The bell rings with force calling for help. The next section is called The Sinking. You can hear the waves crashing into the ship as the bell continues to call for help. At the end the ship sinks as the bell continues to ring. There is one last ring as it settles on the bottom of Lake Superior. The last section is The Memorial. It is the stillness of the water after a storm with no sign of the Edmund Fitzgerald. The bell ring 29 times for each of the crew members. Enjoy.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1129663 Composed by Urkainian Tradional Melody. Arranged by Dean Gilbert. Christmas. Score. 5 pages. Dean Gilbert #730073. Published by Dean Gilbert (A0.1129663). This song originated in Ukraine. This arrangement was inspired by the current situation in Ukraine. This arrangement is written in an ABA style. The A section is a very lively and represents the spirit of Christmas. The B section is a slower and somber version. This section represents the forces that try to ruin Christmas such as the Grinch, Scrooge, or war time. The song ends with the lively A section. The Christmas spirit always wins out in the end no matter what forces get in the way of Christmas. The Grinch couldn’t stop Whoville, the Scrooge found his Spirit, and even during war time opposite forces found a way to sing Christmas carols together.
