Piano,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1444309 Composed by J. Francis Ball, Mercedes M Yardley. Arranged by J.Francis Ball. Classical,Contemporary. 30 pages. J.Francis Ball #1024223. Published by J.Francis Ball (A0.1444309). Program NotesMercedes M. Yardley is a dark fantasist who wears poisonous flowers in her hair. She is a two-time Bram Stoker Award winner for Little Dead Red and Fracture. She is the author of Darling, the Stabby Award-winning Apocalyptic Montessa and Nuclear Lulu: A Tale of Atomic Love, Pretty Little Dead Girls, and Love is a Crematorium. Mercedes lives in Las Vegas and can be found at mercedesmyardley.com.J. Francis BallIs a composer, violinist, and guitarist who has performed in multiple bands, in collaborations, in orchestras, and solo projects. He has recorded and released ten studio albums with The Unwieldies and The Psyatics. His classical, jazz, romantic, and punk musical influences can be heard in all his contemporary compositions. J. Francis Ball was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and currently lives and performs in Las Vegas. His WordsThis collaboration began with a powerful name. I asked Mercedes to listen to and name an early piano composition I wrote. Her reply was Beyond Her Only Dreaming. The original composition was ultimately scrapped, but the name stuck with me. It inspired the muses whispering in my haunted ear. I wrote five musical tone poems that were loosely based on a womans dream.During the creative process, I asked Mercedes to listen to the tones and use her imagination to create sketches for each section. Her spoken poetry powerfully frames a womans dreams, fears, desires, and hope for love. They blend seamlessly with the music and are so masterfully written that they create a picture frame to use as structure but leave the canvas blank. This allows the listener to also take part in this collaboration and paint their own visions of how they experience the music.J.F.B.Her Words Im a dreamer and writer of words, but I love music. When John asked me to name hisoriginal musical piece, I was delighted. I had recently written a story based on RobertChambers famed The King in Yellow collection and, due to the sound and feel of Johnspiece, loosely named the composition after my short story. John took this title and created a brilliant new musical composition. After listening to it, I was influenced to create spoken-word pieces that match the emotion of the music while also hearkening back to the original short story. The piece youll hear contains poetry influenced by original music inspired by a short storybased on a collection written in 1895. Time is a flat circle. This is how art moves and breathes, and Im truly honored to take part.MMY.

Instrumental Solo,Piano,Piccolo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.550931 Composed by J. S. Bach - Gounod. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Standards. Score and individual part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #4888397. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550931). This arrangement features the controversial Schwencke measure (ms. 27) that was originally introduced in 1783 by Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke. The convenient 1st and 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance. Duration with repeat - 4:50. Score: 7 pages. Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1. Well suited for church meditations or school programs or recital encores.  Ave Maria Ave Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach??s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert??s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as a court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created an engaging new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival               Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach??s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.  Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1081763 Composed by Alan Silvestri. Arranged by Graham Boag. 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show. Score and parts. 187 pages. Graham Boag #685889. Published by Graham Boag (A0.1081763). Back to the Future is a 1985 American science fiction film directed by Robert Zemeckis, and written by Zemeckis and Bob Gale. It stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, and Thomas F. Wilson. Set in 1985, the story follows Marty McFly (Fox), a teenager accidentally sent back to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his eccentric scientist friend Doctor Emmett Doc Brown (Lloyd). Trapped in the past, Marty inadvertently prevents his future parents' meeting-threatening his existence-and is forced to reconcile the pair and somehow get back to the future. Back to the Future was conceived of in 1980 by Gale and Zemeckis. They were desperate for a successful film after numerous collaborative failures, but their idea was rejected over 40 times by studios because it was not considered raunchy enough to compete with the successful comedies of the era. A development deal was secured following Zemeckis' success directing Romancing the Stone (1984). Fox was the first choice to portray Marty, but he was unavailable; Eric Stoltz was cast instead. Shortly after principal photography began in November 1984, Zemeckis determined Stoltz was not right for the part and made the concessions necessary to hire Fox. This included re-filming scenes already shot with Stoltz and adding $4 million to the budget. Back to the Future was filmed in and around California and on sets at Universal Studios. Filming concluded the following April. Replacing Stoltz delayed production and the film's release date but, following highly successful test screenings, the date was brought forward to July 3, 1985, to give Back to the Future more time in theaters. This resulted in a rushed post-production schedule, and some incomplete special effects. Back to the Future was a critical and commercial success, earning $381.1 million to become the highest-grossing film of 1985 worldwide. Critics praised the story, comedy, and the cast-particularly Fox, Lloyd, Thompson, and Glover. It received multiple award nominations and won an Academy Award, Saturn Awards, and a Hugo Award. Its theme song, The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News, was a significant success globally. In the years since its release, Back to the Future has grown in esteem and is now considered to be among the greatest films of the 1980s, one of the best science-fiction films ever made, and one of the greatest films of all time. In 2007, the United States Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the National Film Registry. The film was followed by two sequels, Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Back to the Future Part III (1990). With its effect on popular culture and a dedicated fan following, Back to the Future launched a multimedia franchise. This includes an animated television series, video games, comic books, board games, clothing, music, books, food, toys, collectibles, and theme park rides. Its enduring popularity has led to numerous books about its production, documentaries, and commercials. Back to the Future has been adapted into a 2020 stage musical.

Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1250208 Composed by Felicity Mazur-Park. 21st Century,Chamber,Christian,Classical,Sacred. Score. 11 pages. Felicity Mazur-Park #844541. Published by Felicity Mazur-Park (A0.1250208). The chorale prelude begins with the chorale (Jesu, du mein liebstes Leben) harmonized in four-parts. I changed the harmonization, so it differs from J.S. Bach’s chorale setting. My harmonization resists modulating to major keys (B flat major and F major) and instead uses chromatic chords for dramatic effect. This harmonic landscape results in an overall darker mood.  The middle section and heart of the composition features a gigue-like motive which begins in G minor but gradually transitions into chromaticism. At the height of the chromaticism, there are pedal solos interrupted by loud, accented chords in the manuals. As the chromaticism and dissonance build the music moves away from the G tonal center. The return of “G” is delayed until the final statement of the chorale. At the end, the chorale returns combined with the gigue-like motive. The return is dramatic and flamboyant. The chorale prelude finishes with a dramatic pedal solo followed by a subdued penultimate phrase. The loudest registration of the work is reserved for the final phrase.
