String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.995925 Composed by Julien Musafia. Arranged by Javier Gasó-Bustos. Contemporary. Score and parts. 15 pages. Javier Gasó Bustos #5747467. Published by Javier Gasó Bustos (A0.995925). Shostakovic's 24 Preludes and Fugues, composed in 1950, are a tribute of the Russian composer to J.S. Bach, in his work Preludes and Fugues. On this occasion, Fugue No. 5 is presented in 3 voices, in arrangement for String Quartet and containing a rhythmic motif that contrasts with its legato counterpart, which gives a slight contrast that enriches the whole of the fugue as it develops the piece. The fugue offers many musical possibilities and for this arrangement, it has focused on being a pedagogical version; to teach instrumentalists how a fugue works, as well as Shostakovich's own speech. For this reason, writing as its technique is adapted for a quartet of students, as well as professionals who want to offer a pleasant and original recital.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1126644 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Wedding. 145 pages. Jmsgu3 #727289. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1126644). Score: 42 pages. Duration: ca. 22:45J.S. Bach's Eight Little Preludes & Fugues, BWV 553-560, are a set of organ pieces composed between 1720 and 1723. They are composed in the Baroque style and show Bach's mastery of the form. The pieces consist of a prelude followed by a fugue, and are short and compact in form. The preludes are mostly in a two-part contrapuntal style, with occasional triplets and dotted rhythms adding variety and interest. The fugues are more complex and show Bach's ability to write complex counterpoint and intricate contrapuntal textures. These pieces are great for both teaching and performing, and provide a wonderful introduction to Bach's music.

Score and parts. 8 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #2150649. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742369). O Come, All Ye Faithful (originally written in Latin as Adeste Fideles) is a Christmas carol which has been attributed to various authors, including John Francis Wade (1711–1786), with the earliest copies of the hymn all bearing his signature, John Reading (1645–1692) and King John IV of Portugal (1604–1656).[1][2][3]The original four verses of the hymn were extended to a total of eight, and these have been translated into many languages. The English translation of O Come, All Ye Faithful by the English Catholic priest Frederick Oakeley, written in 1841, is widespread in most English speaking countries.[2][4] The present harmonisation is from the English Hymnal (1906).[2]. It was probably written in 1707 when he was 22 years old. It is a Chorale Cantata, a style in which bothe the text and music are based on a hymn. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, the final chorus from his Cantata No.   4, a straightforward four-part chorale setting of the hymn (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weimar. For the final selection, Regis has placed the polyphonic and imitative chorus, Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg, da Tod und Leben rungen (It was a strange battle, that death and life waged, which Bach had placed in the middle of his Cantata No.   4.This arrangement is for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets and 3 Trombones.
