I have add to this well-know German song a unique intro and piano accompaniment. It is for duet  - melody in alto range and harmony in soprano to second soprano or alto range with eith a descant or a C instrument can play the part and piano. It also has an optional ending to each verse. You can choose not to play it if singing with a congregation.I have other versions as well. There are only 3 verses which are the most well-known.

D major suits the guitar best for this piece. The capo is necessary to make this piece work with the recorder. The result is very sweet!
Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921), french composer. Le Carnaval was composed in February 1886 while Saint-Saëns was vacationing in a small Austrian village. The Swan by far the most famous movement of the suite, often performed sole and is used to showcase the interpretive skills of the cellist. The lushly romantic cello solo is played over rippling sixteenths in one piano and rolled chords in the other.

Fur Elise is the popular name given to Bagatelle no.25 written by  Ludwig van Beethoven. The piece was never published in Beethoven's lifetime and only came to light forty years after his death. Despite much debate, no-one has been able to establish who the Elise of the dedication actually was.

This arrangement transcribes the piano score as a Solo for Descant or Soprano Recorder with Piano accompaniment. There are five pages of piano accompaniment and a separate two page solo part included.

Soloists at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The rhythms are straightforward, and there is plenty of scope for expressive, lyrical playing with subtle tempo changes. The piano part is suitable for an intermediate player, easy for the most part, but with two short faster passages. The overall performance time is around three minutes.
