Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1251001 Composed by Felicity Mazur-Park. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Opera,Thriller. 93 pages. Felicity Mazur-Park #845295. Published by Felicity Mazur-Park (A0.1251001). Anton Chekhov was a Russian playwright, who was famous for his tragicomedies. The Seagull is one of his most successful tragicomedies. It has been adapted for many other mediums including ballets, operas, and musicals. In this play, Chekhov uses the symbol of the seagull to represent the doomed fate of the characters. The younger characters, Konstantin and Nina, begin the opera as lovers, but by Act Four are estranged from the world and each other. Arguably, the older lead characters, Irina and Trigorin, are highly destructive to their younger counterparts. Both Konstantin and Nina are young, aspiring artists. What responsibility do experienced, professional artists have to their younger counterparts?

Digital Download SKU: S9.Q3655 Opera in 3 acts. Composed by Sir Michael Tippett. This edition: vocal/piano score. Downloadable, Piano reduction. Duration 102' 0. Schott Music - Digital #Q3655. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q3655). English. The wildest and most open of his operas, New Year is an extraordinarily youthful conception for a composer in his mid-eighties, a work that spins his lyrical ecstasy and rhythmic vitality into a new world on the point of disintegration. Unlike its four predecessors, all of which had been written for the Royal Opera House, this one was composed for Houston Grand Opera, a relocation that encouraged Tippett to veer from opera to musical, evenrock musical, giving space to pop song, spoken dialogue, joke and, above all, dance—the communal movement of bodies that would, as in The MidsummerMarriage but now within a much looser framework, with music say what words could not. Jo Ann and Donny—young woman and youngman, white and black, both orphans—cannot join the dance, isolated as they are inside their personal fears and fantasies. And the dance itself is imperilled by social unease in this city that is ‘Somewhere and Today’.To it come visitors from ‘Nowhere and Tomorrow’: the captain (Regan), pilot (Pelegrin) and computer wizard (Merlin) of a space vessel—though thesescience-fiction characters turn out to be ritual agents (and to have human problems of their own). Donny undergoes a magical transformation; Jo Ann, through love, gains the courage to leave the room in which she has been hiding.(Paul Griffiths)3 (3pic).2.ca.1.bcl.3sax.1.cbn-4.2.3.1-perc (s.d., t.d., b.d., jazz kit, slit dr., 2 steel dr. Clarinet,Euphonium,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1422688 Composed by Frank Pleyer and Johann Hanns Schrammel. Arranged by Willi Schmidt-Petersen (Arranger) Peet du Toit (Orchestrator). March. 14 pages. Peet du Toit #1004039. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1422688). Johann Schrammel, (22 May 1850 – 17 June 1893), was an Austrian composer and musician.Johann was the illegitimate son of the clarinettist Kaspar Schrammel and his late wife Aloisia Ernst; his younger brother Josef Schrammel was in a similar situation. He also had an older half-brother named Konrad Schrammel (1833–1905), who had a less prestigious livelihood as a barrel organ player as he was forced to retire as an invalid from military service. In his first musical lessons Schrammel got together with his brother, with assistance from his father. With approximately six years, Johann Schrammel could sing in the church choir in his home town Neulerchenfeld. His father had helped him receive violin lessons from Ernst Melzer despite a poor financial position. On 6 January 1861, Johann Schrammel debuted along with his brother and father at a concert at the local inn Zum goldenen Stuck at the Neulerchenfelder Straße. From 1862 to 1863 he and his two brothers studied music at the Vienna Conservatory. In addition to singing lessons, the violin was taken up by Josef Schrammel. In June 1865 Johann Schrammel left the Conservatory, and unsecured sources claim that he was at that time already a member of the orchestra of Danzers Orpheum, Harmonietheater. In 1872 he married Rosalia Weichselbaumer and had 13 children with her; 9 of which survived childhood. In 1878 he founded with his brother Josef Schrammel and Anton Strohmayer a trio; they were later joined by the clarinettist Georg Dänzer to form the famous Schrammel Quartet.Johann Schrammel died at age 43 and was awarded an honorary grave in the Hernalser Cemetery.Info Source: Wikipedia.

Cello,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548673 Composed by Adam. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas. Score and part. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #3410433. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548673). Cantique de Noël The French composer Adolphe Adam was already famous as a composer of many successful ballets and operas. Then, in the 1840s, he wrote his most famous work - O Holy Night. The original song title was Minuit Chretiens or Cantique de Noël.  Placide Cappeau provided the original song lyrics. The song was first performed in Roquemaure by the opera singer Emily Laurey at midnight mass in 1847. It became very popular among the French, much like Silent Night was famous elsewhere. In 1850, John S. Dwight, a Unitarian minister and music teacher, translated the song into English.   Adolphe Adam Adam studied organ and composition at the Paris Conservatoire in his younger years. He also played the timpani in the Conservatoire orchestra. Adam used his savings and borrowed money to open a new opera house - the fourth opera house in Paris in 1847. Unfortunately, the Revolution of 1848 forced him to close. He taught composition at the Paris Conservatoire from 1849 until he died in 1856. Placide Cappeau The poet Cappeau was an advocate of the French Enlightenment philosopher Voltaire. Voltaire was renowned for criticizing the Catholic church, religious intolerance, and dogma in general. Consequently, Cappeau made the Redeemer figure in his song a kind of reformer of injustices, particularly the problem of original sin. To begin with, people recognized Cappeau's theology as eccentric, probably even doubtful. Theology In the earlier form of Minuit, the Christ figure descends to intervene with His Father's plan to punish humanity. Traditional doctrine pronounces that Christ came from love, not to intervene. This version also declares that Christ appeared to delete the original sin of Adam. Cappeau removed this part from his poem years later because he didn't believe it. He preferred to portray Christ as the reformer of disparity and unfairness. Before long, the writer/politician Alphonse de Lamartine called the Minuit the Marseillaise of religion. Most French churchmen agreed with this idea but did not consider it a tribute.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1110965 Composed by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP). 20th Century,Classical,Historic,Multicultural,World. Score. 24 pages. Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) #713232. Published by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) (A0.1110965). Colorful, challenging piano solo traces an Ojibwe family’s harrowing journey by canoe down the Brule River and across Lake Superior to safety Canoe (2022) by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) For solo piano Duration 9:22 Difficulty 5 advanced Canoe (2022) by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP), commissioned by Dr. Joseph Choi for solo piano, tells a harrowing story through music of the composer’s Ojibwe ancestor, Wabegiah, and her three young children. Wabegiah grew up at Upper Lake St. Croix in Wisconsin, married the French trader Mr. Couture, and had three children. Mr. Couture died suddenly just as the tensions with the Sioux became quite threatening. To protect her children from being killed by the Sioux, she took them on the long journey in a birch bark canoe down the Brule River and along the coast of Lake Superior all the way to Sault Ste. Marie. As you would expect, much of the music represents water, but it also captures moments during their flight. Loud dissonant chords mark Mr. Couture’s death and Wabegiah’s grief. The unsettling fear motive in Locrian mode predominates as they begin to flee. As they head away from danger, the courage theme follows them downstream. In a dissonant conversation with an Ojibwe man on the Brule River, he refused to give the hungry travelers food, but told them to continue to the river’s mouth to find Wabegiah’s aunt and uncle. The restful and nourishing family time on the shores of Lake Superior allows for variations on the family theme, playful, sleepy, and reflecting on the coming of autumn. With the courage theme as the subject, a fugue tracks their difficult passage across Lake Superior to the safety of Sault Ste. Marie. Recounted by Eliza Morrison, a daughter from Wabegiah’s second marriage, this journey took place in the early 1830s. The three children were born in 1828, 1829, and 1830. The youngest of the children was Angelique, the composer’s great great grandmother.
