The Overtones - Musical Adventures of an Unusual Family was commissioned by Mount Vernon Music, TX in 2021 for chamber group and narrator as part of their educational outreach program . My previous composition, The Townmusicians (based on Grimm's fable ) had been performed by Mount Vernon Music in front of throusand of children since its creation and recorded in three languages (score and parts available also at sheetmusicplus) .
The Overtones introduces the audience playfully to scales/modes using the imaginary world of Overtonia where we visit places like The Dorian Sea, the capital Ionia or the Aeolian Mountains and many places more.
The piece had its premiere in 2021 and has been recorded in English and German.
The quartet consists of a clarinet (Bb), violin, viola and violoncello.
Narration is in English for this publication.

ZODIAC, my debut Double Concerto for Violin, Viola and Orchestra, is now accessible in a piano reduction.

The premiere performance was given by Olivia Hajioff, Marc Ramirez, and The Washington Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Ulysses James, on May 22, 2022, in Alexandria, Virginia.

Inspired by the Zodiac, the composition comprises four movements that align the astrological signs with their corresponding elements: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water.

The approximate duration is fifteen minutes. Orchestral parts may be rented upon request.
