The song Iko, Iko was originally written by James Crawford in 1953 using phrases he heard being chanted by Mardi Gras Indians and setting some of those phrases to music. In 1965 the Dixie Cups added some elements of their own and the song became an international hit. Dr. John further popularized the song with his version of Iko, Iko in 1972.
This set contains one Jumbie Jam diagram, one Jumbie Jam part, and one piano accompaniment. Great for at home, recital, and classroom. Additional sets of two Jumbie Jam parts for the classroom, without piano accompaniment, are also available.
