Euphonium,Instrumental Duet,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.747026 By Dizzy Gillespie. By Dizzy Gillespie and Frank Paparelli. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Jazz. 12 pages. Keith Terrett #5899355. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.747026). A great sounding arrangement of A Night in Tunisia arranged for Baritone, Euphonium, Trombone (BC) & Piano, low brass players will love this!A jazz solo is written out for you, if you wish you can improvise on the given chord symbols!A Night in Tunisia is a musical composition written by Dizzy Gillespie around 1941–42, while Gillespie was playing with the Benny Carter band. It has become a jazz standard. It is also known as Interlude. Gillespie called the tune Interlude and said some genius decided to call it 'Night in Tunisia'. He said the tune was composed at the piano at Kelly's Stables in New York. He gave Frank Paparelli co-writer credit in compensation for some unrelated transcription work, but Paparelli had nothing to do with the song. A Night in Tunisia was one of the signature pieces of Gillespie's bebop big band, and he also played it with his small groups. In January 2004, The Recording Academy added the 1946 Victor recording by Gillespie to the Grammy Hall of Fame.On the album A Night at Birdland Vol. 1, Art Blakey introduced his 1954 cover version with this statement: At this time we'd like to play a tune [that] was written by the famous Dizzy Gillespie. I feel rather close to this tune because I was right there when he composed it in Texas on the bottom of a garbage can. The audience laughs, but Blakey responds, Seriously. The liner notes say, The Texas department of sanitation can take a low bow.The complex ostinato bass line in the A section is notable for avoiding the standard walking bass pattern of straight quarter notes, and the use of oscillating half-step-up/half-step-down chord changes (using the Sub V, a tritone substitute chord for the dominant chord) gives the song a unique, mysterious feeling. The B section is notable for having an unresolved minor II-V, since the chord progression of the B section is taken from the B section of the standard Alone Together, causing the V chord to lead back into the Sub V of the A section.Like many of Gillespie's tunes, it features a short written introduction and a brief interlude that occurs between solo sections - in this case, a twelve-bar sequence leading into a four-bar break for the next soloist.

Music and song composed by mePUPPET IN LOVE    Months and then years of this shelf People passing and laughing at me Old, torn, there is never a child Who wants to buy me to shake him Wax heart in this body of mine But an emotion I can also feel I quiver in love for those eyes, a small doll you are And I never get tired of looking at you You who have a lit light bulb in that your red heart, tell me if It will shine a bit 'for me Puppet in love Be careful that your heart it can dissolve to the heat while she calls you love Strange mockery of fate your dream is nearby and You can not love her anymore And a wax tear down Small doll, small doll I that wanted to love you Now that I can do melted is this my heart And I can not feel anything but pain more Here I stand, with the heart and a dream tigthen in hand Infuse life into this body of mine Only with you I feel alive me too piece of wood, spirit does not With you comes alive It is an explosion, it is clear madness And I know for sure that you'll be mine Maybe not now, in this reality But one day will happen Puppet in love Sweet summer wind Long nights lit And the morning light it will find my puppet Always there on the shelf No heart, no love, no nothing to hope You will dance with me like if  I was free from my wires I will dance with you and there is no limit to your dreams The small doll that has already decided Ripping her heart from the breast out and gives it to him If you love me only half ... a only heart just enough The bulb will shine for us It will turn in a star It will be a refuge for people like us to love never stops Sunshine On that shelf My puppet now where is ? Dirty wax can no longer serve, rests in the fire his ashes Turned off the light of a bulb My small doll no longer shine ... You will dance with me like I was free from my wires I will dance with you and there is no limit to your dreams ... ..                                                                        Monica Bergo

Brass Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.983164 Composed by Craig Wadley. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 52 pages. Wadley Publications #3043833. Published by Wadley Publications (A0.983164). This Brass Quintet won the 1996 Fine Arts Festival Music Award at Illinois State University, an international competition.   Songs of the Warrior, a Brass Quintet in three movements, utilizes thematic material derived from a twelve-tone row, presented in three contrasting styles.  While the piece stands on its own as absolute music following traditional formal structures, the titles of each movement do suggest a setting befitting the mood or atmosphere evoked by the music.   I. The Cannon’s Mouth Following a slightly modified version of the classical sonata allegro form, this movement presents the thematic material in a freely atonal setting, Much use is made of variations of ancient two note war-horn calls, which would command soldiers to advance into direct combat with an enemy.   II.  Amidst the Fallen The second movement evokes images of the aftermath of battle and the horrors left on the field of war.  Dynamic and rhythmic elements in the music produce a classic arch form.  Melodic and harmonic structures are developed throughout the movement.   III.  Revelry A complete departure in style from the previous movements, Revelry features upbeat modal harmony and foot-tapping rhythms.  Thematic material borrowed from the earlier movements is transformed to conform to the desired atmosphere.  The form of the movement is best described as a hybrid rondo and variations.  The light-hearted mood is perhaps a reflection of the joy found when a soldier returns to his home.   This quintet presents three stylistically distinct movements, yet all are based on the same thematic sources.  The first movement is somewhat cerebral and demands much virtuosity from the performers.  The second is darker, with some almost lyrical melodic lines.  The final movement is nothing if not bombastic.  All-in-all, Songs of the Warrior provides a little something for everyone, from Berlioz to Schoenberg, with a little Bernstein on the side.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.947265 Composed by John Philips. Blues,Jazz. Score and parts. 17 pages. John Philips Music Service #3867627. Published by John Philips Music Service (A0.947265). Very easy chart for middle schools on up. Based on 12 bar blues it runs at about 140 and has simple themes that are done with unison sections. It’ funky 2 beat and make you want to clap your hands on 2 & 4. Fun to play, younger players can do it and learn. It usually works to have the horn players that are not playing in the first part of the chat clap their hands over their head on 2 and 4. This will get the people into it. This is a simple funky 2 beat and should be kept that way. Piano has dissonant afterbeats--should be soft.If you want a Maynard or Buddy chart, look elsewhere. This series of charts uses nothing more complicated than eighth notes, are not frantic or screamers, extreme ranges and are hemi-demi-semi-quaver free. They depend on intonation and the players being not intimidated by what he is asked to play. There is no contest to see how high you can go before you need oxygen , how many notes you can play in 9 seconds or before your bell overheats , or how long it takes the audience to cover their earsRelaxed and confident players always play more in tune. Good harmonies, lines and realistic rhythm patterns will produce a good result that will swing and be enjoyed by player and listener alike.

Easy Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033516 Composed by Lynne Cox. Children,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Score. 4 pages. Lynne Coc Publications #638816. Published by Lynne Coc Publications (A0.1033516). Green, in Lynne Cox's new series, Box of Paints, is a secondary color that results from mixing the two primary colors, yellow and blue. Green symbolizes nature, the environment, harmony, and tranquility, as well as growth and renewal-as in the green growth of spring. It is considered restful-many doctors' and dentists' offices are painted this color to calm the patient! For these reasons, the tempo/mood indication is 'tranquilly'. Lyrics depict restful, tranquil scenes of nature and the flow of the music laid back. Rather a softly performed piece with nothing louder than mp. A sections utilize hands in middle C position with RH mindful of the F#. Divided melody here between hands. B section also displays divided melody but with an entirely different melody. Because of the 8va the piece covers 2 octaves. In m. 10 (likewise in m. 34) The right hand is set up for a 5-finger D position since melody reaches up to A easily by arranging a fingering change. Form: intro A B A coda Key of G major Time signature Intro begins with dotted-half notes alternating between hands on Gs covering 4 octaves, damper pedal held over all 4 measures here. Students asked if the Gs were because it is the first letter of green! Coda same as intro except for a ritardando at end. Touches: entire piece very legato requiring the fingers to produce this in A sections, not relying on damper pedal as the intro and coda do. As in all of solos in this series, Box of Paints, the piece is designed to be open-ended encouraging and inspiring the student to think of things they like in this color and compose their own lyrics, even composing their own music about their favorite color. Great recital and/or contest and/or festival lists. Lynne performs the vocals and piano on the following you tube link. Lynne also arranged this piece as an instrumental only with many additions such as instrumental voicing and different instruments entitled 'Green Instrumental', also on you tube. Flute Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.930988 Composed by Various. Arranged by Mikayla Ann Odut. Christmas,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Individual part. 3 pages. Mikayla Odut #3243741. Published by Mikayla Odut (A0.930988). If you're like me, you've searched nearly everywhere for Christmas flute music that isn't boring to play. I composed this for my Christmas recital in 2016 with the following question in mind about Christmas music: Why is piano music so complex while flute music has almost nothing to it? I came to the conclusion that the main difference is that you can play many chords within the piano music. With this difference in mind, I've written a flute medley of Christmas carols, containing both the melody and chords! Essentially, it gives you the oppurtunity to play a balanced, entertaining carol medly that is both challenging and pleasing to hear. This original arrangement includes Angels We Have Heard on High, Joy to the World, It Came Upon the Midnight Clear, The First Noel, and briefly ends with Jingle Bells. Please keep in mind the recording sample is only a computer playback. There are plenty of opportunities to add rubato and your own personalized expression, something the computerized flute doesn't do.*** The audio file does not yet recflect the most recent version.

It's intended as a sampler for the Finding Your Way series. Finding Your Way is a series which aims to build note-reading skills and develop piano technique in easy stages. This collection selects six of the longer pieces from Finding Your Way 2. These pieces are rather more challenging than those in Piano Pictures Finding Your Way Selections 2. They are arranged so that they can be played in sequence to form a complete mini-recital, if you wish. All of the pieces here are in Middle C position with no sharps or flats. Note values are very simple, with nothing shorter than crotchets (quarter notes). Dynamics, staccato dots and slurs are featured throughout. 1. At The Funfair 2. Walking On Stilts 3. Here it is in piano solo form with a smooth, flowing style. This piece is rather easy, but since one section involves right hand over the left, I'm classifying it as Early Intermediate. Don't be alarmed, though. It's in the key of C and the left hand plays the same motif as the previous section. This is the first piece in my selections that I call Church Campfire Songs, something I usually play during the summer months at Sunday services. As Grandma says, Nothing like a cool summer memory to make you feel refreshed. (She actually used the word cool.) Key of C, three pages in length, no key changes, performance time: about two minutes.

Film/TV,Jazz,Multicultural,Singer/Songwriter,Standards,World. Score. 8 pages. Timothy Stapay #811114. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1213917). Yesterday When I was Young is a song composed by Georges Garvarentz and written by Charles Aznavour and released in September 1964.  The original French title translates to Just yesterday or Not so long ago.It is considered one of Aznavour's greatest hits. The English-language lyrics, written by Herbert Kretzmer, tell of someone reflecting on his life, recalling how he had wasted his younger years.Lyrics:[Verse 1]Yesterday when I was youngThe taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongueI teased at life as if it were a foolish gameThe way the evening breeze may tease a candle flameThe thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I plannedI always built, alas, on weak and shifting sandI lived by night and shunned the naked light of dayAnd only now I see how the years ran away[Verse 2]Yesterday, when I was youngSo many drinking songs were waiting to be sungSo many wayward pleasures lay in store for meAnd so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to seeI ran so fast that time and youth at last ran outI never stopped to think what life was all aboutAnd every conversation I can now recallConcerned itself with me, me and nothing else at all[Verse 3]Yesterday the moon was blueAnd every crazy day brought something new to doI used my magic age as if it were a wandAnd never saw the waste and emptiness beyondThe game of love I played with arrogance and prideAnd every flame I lit too quickly, quickly diedThe friends I made all seemed somehow to drift awayAnd only I am left on stage to end the play[Outro]There are so many songs in me that won't be sungI feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongueThe time has come for me to pay for yesterdayWhen I was youngYoung, young...
