C Instrument - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1410612 By Crystal Gayle. By Richard Leigh. Arranged by John Fries. Country,Pop,Standards. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. John Fries #993032. Published by John Fries (A0.1410612). TYPE JOHN FRIES IN THE SEARCH BAR TO SEE ALL I HAVE TO OFFER. Thanks, John. Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue is a song written by Richard Leigh, and recorded by American country music singer Crystal Gayle. It was released in June 1977 as the first single from Gayle's album We Must Believe in Magic. In a 2004 Country Music Television interview, Gayle stated that Leigh wrote the song because his dog had one brown eye and one blue eye. However, in a 2016 interview, Richard Leigh set the record straight and said that this was not the case. His dog, Amanda, a terrier, had two brown eyes. The song became a worldwide hit single. In the United States, it topped the Billboard country music chart for four weeks, and was Gayle's first (and biggest) crossover pop hit, reaching number 1 on the Cashbox Top 100 for two weeks, and number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1399608 By Various. By Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Pop. 139 pages. John Ivor Holland #982901. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1399608). Early on in the musical Sweet Charity, the lead character is taken to an exclusive nightclub and this sets the scene for the company to introduce Bob Fosse's choreographic showpiece The Rich Man's Frug (the melody of which is drawn from the song Big Spender). It's a wildly energetic dance number comprising three movements (The Aloof, The Heavyweight and The Big Finish) accentuating Fosse's creative use of unusual poses, gestures, and arm movements. This arrangement draws from the original Broadway and movie scores, presenting as full a version as possible, including the chorus singing towards the end - don't scimp on the percussion, particularly the anvil, as this will certainly conjure up the true spirit of the piece - groovy!

Claire Coleman #802160. Published by Claire Coleman (A0.1203552). Don't Just Sit There by powerhouse duo Lucius is one of those infectious tunes that gets stuck in your head. This arrangement shares the melody around the voice groups, so everyone gets a turn in the spotlight and a little bit of that cracker melody for themselves. It is arranged in three parts - Soprano / Alto / Contralto - with frequent divisi, so the harmonies are as rich as the original tune. The arrangment is intended to be sung a cappella, and includes optional body percussion, but could also be performed with piano or guitar improvised accompaniment.

It was released in June 1977 as the first single from Gayle's album We Must Believe in Magic. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We added what we think are some pretty cool left-hand fills that we hope you will like! It's a fun song and not too hard to play!
