Three Plus Flutes for three soprano with opt. 4th/ob. with alto and bass & piccolo. An introduction using unrelated material leads the tune presented in voice two, supported by harmonies in the lower voices, then an obbligato-like motion added by the upper voice. A modulation upward makes room for a duet in the upper lines, later joined by the lower voices in a contrapuntal fashion. The final section becomes more vigorous and imitative until a solid, declamatory ending.

Four Plus Brass Series- for two Trumpets and two Trombones (with opt. Horn and Tuba for color). Without any introduction the piece begins in four-part harmony and in a deeply reflective expression. As is the original, there are many meter changes. The second section is carried exclusively in the trombones until it is taken over by muted trumpets until consummated with harmonic divergence. The final section is established by the trumpets with subtle underpinning by the trombones. With one final strong presentation of the tune the piece concludes in repose- as one might expect.

In Alla breve the trumpets begin the piece in exultation with counter-movement in the trombones passing through a maze of meter changes. The theme tends to be insolated by part, but does exchange between the voices in an imitative format. This format continues, only in a more harmonically full scoring. The second section is stronger in fabric and the voicing becomes more solid. This all leads up to a solid conclusion with a final statement of satisfaction.

This exchange of motives continues throughout the whole first section until a rallentando presents the theme once again in a slower more expressive manner. A Woodwind quartet for two flutes and 2 clarinets. The piece gins in a spritely duet in the upper voices and reverses roles with the lower voices carrying the melody and duet lines. All four voices now join in a smooth, serene fashion until it gains dynamic and harmonic strength. A modulation upward with the tune in voice two, and an obbligato-like movement in part one, while the lower parts underpin with a simplistic, though active line. In the last section the parts become more active and excitement abounds until a final flourish establishes the end.

Leading into the section where the parts move in a two part counterpoint until it becomes more choral. Then it segues into a solemn mood with a trombone solo carrying the tune with answering sections in the trumpets. With a segment of strength and power and in a block chordal movement the piece continues to settle into solemnity until it concludes to a single pitch.

The final section is more active with the top voice using material from the introduction and slows to repose.
