You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch was originally premiered in the 1966 animated special How The Grinch Stole Christmas, featuring lyrics by Dr. Seuss and music by Albert Hague. Describing all the (increasingly silly) ways that the Grinch is a foul, odious, and terrible creature, the song played a key part in establishing the grumpy Christmas-hating character and cementing him in peoples' holiday folklore from then on. This song has been featured in most other film and TV adaptations of the story ever since, and it is now a popular stand-alone holiday song -- so you can't go wrong adding this one to your gig books! Featuring the catchy melodies, sinister harmonies, and silly sound effects of the original (pizzicato, tremolo, and glissandos galore!), this Cellobat arrangement for violin and cello will be a blast to play, and you're sure to steal your audience's hearts!
