Instrumental Duet Flute,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.588832 Composed by David McKeown. Concert,Latin,Standards,World. Score and parts. 8 pages. David McKeown #5743973. Published by David McKeown (A0.588832). Merengue de Merlín is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Violin. This duet is based on the traditional Latin style of Merengue that emerged in the Dominican Republic during the Nineteenth Century. Merengue Tipico bands maintain the traditional instrumentation of the double-headed tambora drum, güira, accordion and vocal, while urban bands in the North American diaspora often add saxophone, bass and other percussion. The Merengue dance became hugely popular in the 1950s and new forms continue to draw audiences around the world. If you play to an intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. The steady quintilla tambora rhythm is present throughout, and following the precise articulation in the score will help convey the style. The main challenge is the fast tempo and melodies should be clearly articulated. Merengue de Merlín has a performance time of around two and a half minutes at full tempo. You can listen to a full performance the Alto Saxophone version of this duet by following the YouTube link above. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1310263 By Tony Bennett. By Bart Howard. Arranged by Christopher J. Malin. 20th Century,Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show,Pop,Standards. Individual part. 1 pages. Christopher J. Malin #899378. Published by Christopher J. Malin (A0.1310263). Solo jazz guitar chord/melody arrangement with tablature. Seldom heard standard in this style. Beautiful, instantly recognizable melody. One of Bart Howard's finer pieces. He's from Iowa! This piece makes you stand out as a solo jazz guitarist of all idioms. Some chords are played as triads or dyads or eliminated, and single notes are used. I draw a line over the note if it's the high note of a chord or I use a dot if it's played as a single note, the chord is then in parentheses. I tend to use a minimalist style that keeps the important parts of the music. There are many arrangements of this song. Give mine a go, it's a bit different.  Sounds great on acoustic and electric guitars.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1091873 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by David Rain. A Cappella,Classical,Contemporary. 6 pages. David Rain, Choral Composer #696006. Published by David Rain, Choral Composer (A0.1091873). Erik Satie's Sarabande No. 1 is one of my favourite piano pieces. For a long time, I felt there was an a cappella choral piece hiding within it, in plain sight. One day I got inspired and gave it a try. Creating a choral adaptation of a piano piece has its challenges. I tried to keep faithful to Satie's original musical inspiration and created lyrics to go with my arrangement that evoke an early summer morning, one of my favourite times of the year. Several months later, I applied to be a participant at one of the Vancouver Chamber Choir's Interplay workshops funded by the SOCAN Foundation and to my delight I was accepted. As dawn breaks was one of the pieces that this amazing choir sight read for me on the spot. VCC director Jon Washburn and choir members then provided me with valuable feedback, for which I am very grateful. NB: One day I woke up to the realization that I had independently written four choral works, each of which had evoked a different season, and so it seemed natural to group them together into a choral suite that I have called The Ottawa Four Seasons Suite. As dawn breaks works perfectly as the opening number of this suite. Finally, my instruction to choirs is to sing as if in a painting, and indeed I invite any artists who might draw inspiration from this piece to consider creating a companion work of art to accompany it.

Harmonica - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1347194 Composed by Arthur Freed and Nacio Herb Brown. Arranged by songbooks.info. 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Standards. Score. 4 pages. Songbooks.info #931991. Published by songbooks.info (A0.1347194). Singin' in the Rain is a hit film written in 1929 by Arthur Freed (lyrics) and Nacio Herb Brown (music). Gene Kellys dances and sings in the 1952 sound film of the same name.Already after the Second World War, the song became a jazz standard and was performed by artists such as Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson, John Serry Sr., Sammy Davis Jr. and Doris Day, just to name a few artists. In 2004, the American Film Institute ranked the song third in its list of the 100 best American film songs. The song was adapted for the Chromatic Harmonica and provided with symbols for the channel number, blow/draw and the slider. These symbols are briefly explained in the appendix. The classic musical notation and/or the lyrics help to develop the song, so that even those unfamiliar with music notes can learn to play the song with this arrangement. The sound of a Vibraphone was used in the setting, so the sound does not mix with the sound of your own instrument. The melody is backed by a metronome and quietly by an organ.

Picc. (G tr). 3 Fl. Afl. Bfl. (Cafl). (Cbfl). Cbfl in G). (Dbl Cbfl). - Easy - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM600 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Robert Rainford. A great piece for introducing the full flute choir to audiences. Score and parts. 53 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM600. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM600). ISBN 9790570484997.This piece has been created to give the flute choir a chance to introduce the entire flute family to the audience in a lighthearted, fun way. At each 'vamp' section, while the flutes continue to play the ostinato pattern the narrator (this can be the conductor or a dedicated narrator) can talk to the audience about the flute that is about to play the next 'verse' of the tune. The style of the narration can be varied depending on the nature of the situation. It may be possible to hold up the various flutes next to each other to give the audience an idea of the comparative sizes of the various instruments. You could also talk about relative pitches of each member of the flute family, their development, some repertoire (both solo and orchestral), and about the development of the flute choir as an ensemble. This piece is performable with the minimum forces of piccolo, 3 flutes, alto flute and bass flute. The sections featuring the other, rarer member of the flute family can be omitted by cutting from the end of any vamp bar to the letter where the next available solo instrument takes the tune. Following the entry of the last solo instrument (the piccolo) there are two sections for the full flute choir. One also features some hidden flute 'lollipops' that you may or may not want to draw the audiences attention to, and the final section is a jazzy finale with the option of swinging the quavers. Above all, this arrangement was produced to be usable. Please feel free to adapt it in any way you like to help us introduce audiences to the great sound of the flute choir!
