MASTERS IN THIS HALLSATB or AcappellaAn old French carol, Marche pour les Matelots by Marin Marais (1706), this tune is a favorite at Christmas and is popular with carolers. The words were written by Willia Morris (1860)In a 16th century style, Masters in This Hall refers back to a simpler society when the poor, bringing news of Christ's birth to the Masters in this Hall was a warning to the proud. This song explains raising up the poor and casting down the proud is also contained in the song of the Virgin Mary as in Luke 1:51. This carol describes a poor man who wished to draw his master's attention to the birth of Christ by telling how he had met shepherds travelling to Bethlehem. He joined them and saw the Christ child in his Mother Mary's arms. The chorus reveals how the birth of Christ has raised up the poor and cast down the proud.SATB, but may be sung acappellaChorus, men's section, ladies section, then all repeat on the chorusComfortable vocal rangePiano Accompaniment track available on this site

String Ensemble,String Trio Cello - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1031098 By Adele. By Adele Adkins and Paul Epworth. Arranged by The Cello Playin' Fool. Pop,R & B. Score and parts. 13 pages. Caitlin McAndry #3108637. Published by Caitlin McAndry (A0.1031098). Adele's Rolling in the Deep is an instantly recognisable hit, and is a real crowd pleaser. This arrangement, suitable for competent cellists, is designed to produce a full sound despite the small group size. The melody is swapped between parts to give each player a chance to shine. Suitable for any event, from wedding receptions to concerts, and always guaranteed to draw attention. Arrangement duration: ≈ 3:45Notes on the arrangement:Some sections are technically challenging, including double stopping in 3rds, 6ths, and open string octaves, and use of tenor clef. However anyone wanting to simplify this arrangement to make it more accessible to less experienced players would be able to do so; either by splitting up the double stops between a larger group of player, and/or transposing the melody down an octave.Performance notes:This piece should be played with energy and vigour, as intended by Adele. A good pulse and a steady speed will help players to keep together. Any repeated quavers should be played nice and staccato, and quite percussively. This avoids any mushiness sometimes associated with 3 lower instruments playing together in approximately the same range. More information:If anyone has any questions or wants more information, performance tips, rearrangements,or future requests, feel free to contact me:Caitlin McAndry ~ The Cello Playin' FoolEmail: cmcandry@me.comFacebook: The Cello Playin' FoolKudos for getting this far into the description! Thanks for reading, enjoy the music! From Caitlin The Cello Playin' FoolP.S Sorry for the awful sound quality on the recording, it was recorded on my headphone mic which is not all that good!

Published by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) (A0.953628). Great for concerts about nature and the environment, pandemic life, creativity!Shelter in Place by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) for mixed SSAATB chorus with nature soundtrack created by Chris Clark-Johnsona setting of Shelter in Place, a poem by Kim Stafford Commissioned by Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, April 2021Founder, composer, and singer with Inversion Ensemble of Austin, Texas, Adrienne Inglis also serves as principal flute with the Central Texas Philharmonic, flute instructor at Southwestern University, and flutist with flute/harp duo Chaski. She has music degrees from Lewis and Clark College and the University of Texas at Austin. An avid birder and environmentalist, she lives in the rural hill country of Central Texas.Poet Kim Stafford grew up in Oregon, Iowa, Indiana, California, and Alaska, following his parents as they taught and traveled through the West. He is the author of a dozen books of poetry and prose, and the founding director of the Northwest Writing Institute at Lewis & Clark College, where he has taught since 1979. He holds a PhD in Medieval Literature from the University of Oregon, and has worked as a printer, photographer, oral historian, editor, and visiting writer at a host of colleges and schools, and offered writing workshops in Italy, Scotland, and Bhutan.Shelter in Place by Kim Stafford (used with permission)Long before pandemic prisoned us,the trees knew how to guard their placewith roots and shade.Moss found how to hug a stone for life.Every stream knows how to move in place, stay home and yet flow outward, sending bounty far.Now is our time to practice-now to sing from balconies, now send words of comfortby any courier, now to hoard lonesome generosity-and then to shine in all directions like stars.Program note: Shelter in Place (2021) by Adrienne Inglis, commissioned by Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, April 2021, sets former Oregon poet laureate Kim Stafford’s poem Shelter in Place (2020) for SSAATB mixed choir with Oregon nature soundtrack created by Chris Clark-Johnson, Lewis & C lark College class of 2021. Written during the coronavirus pandemic, the poem expresses how quarantine can serve as a conduit for healing, how words of comfort flow despite barriers, and how the paralysis of sheltering in place generates creative movement. The music and poem draw inspiration from ancient forest wisdom, shown musically with a pentatonic scale. The tight harmonies of Locrian mode bind moss to stone and stream to its own flow. Then vocal expression bursts forth with lush harmonies as singers serenade from balconies, sharing compassion through music. Returning to the pentatonic scale, we overcome obstacles and send generosity beyond our ancient and modern world into the celestial realm. The nature soundtrack features sounds of the Oregon forest, stream, and night sky.Acknowledgements: The composer warmly thanks Katherine FitzGibbon, Bailey Dean, Chris Clark-Johnson, Kim Stafford, and the Lewis & Clark College Community Chorale. Contact the composer to obtain the audio file of the nature soundtrack.Copyright © 2021 Adrienne Inglis | adrienne.inglis.com

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Tenor Saxophone,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.588991 Composed by David McKeown. Concert,Latin,Standards,World. Score and parts. 8 pages. David McKeown #5744003. Published by David McKeown (A0.588991). Merengue de Merlín is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Tenor Saxophone. This duet is based on the traditional Latin style of Merengue that emerged in the Dominican Republic during the Nineteenth Century. Merengue Tipico bands maintain the traditional instrumentation of the double-headed tambora drum, güira, accordion and vocal, while urban bands in the North American diaspora often add saxophone, bass and other percussion. The Merengue dance became hugely popular in the 1950s and new forms continue to draw audiences around the world. If you play to an intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. The steady quintilla tambora rhythm is present throughout, and following the precise articulation in the score will help convey the style. The main challenge is the fast tempo and melodies should be clearly articulated. Merengue de Merlín has a performance time of around two and a half minutes at full tempo. You can listen to a full performance the Alto Saxophone version of this duet by following the YouTube link above. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.1068480 Composed by 1776, 1830, Music – Thomas Hastingsm, and Words – Augustus M. Toplady. Arranged by Pat Holmberg. Christian,Contemporary,Gospel. Full Performance. Duration 122. Patricia Tanttila Holmberg #1966901. Published by Patricia Tanttila Holmberg (A0.1068480). This is an old well-known Christian hymn played on the piano. It has an updated rhythmic feel to give it a bit of life. Here are the lyrics, if you want to sing along with it: Rock of Ages cleft for me; Let me hide myself in Thee. Let the water and the blood from thy wounded side which flowed, Be of sin the double cure; Save from wrath and make me pure. Could my tears forever flow, Could my zeal no respite know, This for sin could not atone – Thou must save, and Thou along; In my hand no price I bring, Simply to Thy cross I cling. When I draw my final breath, When my eyes shall close in death. When I rise to worlds unknown And be hold Thee on Thy throne, Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee. Piano,Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.957735 Composed by Stephen Lines. Contemporary. Score and part. 26 pages. Stephen Lines #26253. Published by Stephen Lines (A0.957735). This piece was composed for Will Hutchinson, an up-and-coming young trombonist from Christchurch, New Zealand. It is in three movements, the first is chorale-like and calls for a rich tone together with excellent lyrical interpretation - a fine opportunity to bring the romantic element to the fore. The second movement is a waltz and great fun for the player(s) and the audience. The third movement gives the soloist the opportunity to show his or her musicianship and is much loved by audiences. For the soloist and pianist this is not a technically difficult piece to play - but it provides an excellent opportunity to interpret the music and draw the audience in.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1091873 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by David Rain. A Cappella,Classical,Contemporary. 6 pages. David Rain, Choral Composer #696006. Published by David Rain, Choral Composer (A0.1091873). Erik Satie's Sarabande No. 1 is one of my favourite piano pieces. For a long time, I felt there was an a cappella choral piece hiding within it, in plain sight. One day I got inspired and gave it a try. Creating a choral adaptation of a piano piece has its challenges. I tried to keep faithful to Satie's original musical inspiration and created lyrics to go with my arrangement that evoke an early summer morning, one of my favourite times of the year. Several months later, I applied to be a participant at one of the Vancouver Chamber Choir's Interplay workshops funded by the SOCAN Foundation and to my delight I was accepted. As dawn breaks was one of the pieces that this amazing choir sight read for me on the spot. VCC director Jon Washburn and choir members then provided me with valuable feedback, for which I am very grateful. NB: One day I woke up to the realization that I had independently written four choral works, each of which had evoked a different season, and so it seemed natural to group them together into a choral suite that I have called The Ottawa Four Seasons Suite. As dawn breaks works perfectly as the opening number of this suite. Finally, my instruction to choirs is to sing as if in a painting, and indeed I invite any artists who might draw inspiration from this piece to consider creating a companion work of art to accompany it.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1212852 Composed by Elizabeth Borowsky. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary. Score. 6 pages. Piano Prodigies #810065. Published by Piano Prodigies (A0.1212852). Ireland is a country rich with stories and superstitions, myths and legends. We have all heard of shamrocks and leprechauns, but how about dancing trees? On a morning stroll along the Shannon River, a willow tree catches our attention. As we draw closer, we hear music. The tree extends a branch and invites us to dance along, first slowly, and then quickly: a full-on jig! We thank the tree, it bows back… did this really happen? Fast Fact: The final melody line is inspired by Edvard Grieg’s Symphonic Dance Op. 64 No. 3.
