To quell the madness he has unleashed, Puck casts a spell lulling the four into a deep slumber accompanied by Mendelssohn's wistful Nocturne. When they awake, all is forgotten and order restored.This transcription for brass ensemble exquisitely captures the longing melody originally voiced by solo horn, dividing it among three horns. The euphonium and bass trombone parts are interchangeable, though the powerful euphonium is featured during the work's swelling middle section. If performing without euphonium, some phrases differ slightly.Two versions are included - the full-length original and an abridged edition better suited for certain programs and ensembles' abilities and stamina.
