Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813398 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and parts. 41 pages. Regis Bookshar #6209803. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813398). Euphonium Quintet - Advanced - Digital Download. This must-have arrangement would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals and could also be performed for church services. This brilliant work by Johann Sebastian Bach is an adaptation of Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins and String Orchestra in B minor. Bach had gotten to know Vivaldi's concertos while he was an organist at Weimar, where he transcribed ten of them for solo harpsichord and six of them for organ. Originally written in B minor, Bach transposed it to A minor and, while preserving the melodic outline as conceived by Vivaldi for four violins, this later adaptation, from around 1730, for four harpsichords and string orchestra, is far more ambitious. In it, Bach has both tightened and expanded Vivaldi's counterpoint, enriched it with lusher harmonies and expanded the solo parts with greater complexity and greater clarity. The result is a composition that actually improves on the original work. Written in the standard three-movement concerto form of the Baroque period, Bach's Concerto for Four Claviers in A minor is a virtuoso piece for the soloists. Regis Bookshar has now rearranged the first movement of this concerto, marked Allegro, for a Euphonium Quintet, while maintaining the energy and virtuosity of Bach's original work. This arrangement is intended to be performed by accomplished players. It may prove to be a huge challenge for many players, but, I think, it will be worth the effort. Included are a score and a complete set of parts, written in Treble Clef (41 pages). If you prefer, a version written in Bass Clef is also available. In addition to this version for 5 Euphoniums, other arrangements of this selection are also available for a variety of Instrumental Quintets, some of which are in the original key of Concert A minor and some have been transposed to Concert G minor, making it a little easier for some performers, as well as numerous other arrangements in a wide variety of styles. I would encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. You may find something else which might interest you as well. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement will be a challenge to many performers but will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed working on it.

Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813485 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 35 pages. Regis Bookshar #6265569. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813485). Canon in D (Pachelbel) (Bb) (Euphonium Octet - Bass Clef) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon in D, is perhaps the most famous canon ever written and has been one of my favorite compositions to arrange. A canon is a polyphonic device in which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon in D, was originally written in the key of D Major and was scored for three violins arranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo which repeats the same harmonic progression throughout the entire piece. The common musical term for this is ostinato or ground bass. Regis Bookshar has now arranged this music for a Euphonium Octet. Three Euphoniums play the melody in canon while the ostinato accompaniment is played by the other five instruments. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but could also be performed by professional performers. It is perfect for concerts and church services, especially for Weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (35 pages) written in Bass Clef. A version written in Treble Clef is also available if you prefer. This version is written in the key of D Major, as is the original version, but, another version, written in the key of Bb Major, to make it a little easier for some younger performers, is also available. Other versions of Pachelbel's Canon in D have also been arranged by Regis Bookshar and are available for a wide variety of instrumental Quintets and Octets, in both the keys of D Major and Bb Major. I think that String players would probably prefer to play the versions in the key of D Major while the Brass and Woodwind musicians might prefer to play the Bb Major versions. I hope you take the time to compare the different versions to find the right version for you. To help you decide which version, or versions, you may want to choose, I have included several musical samples for you to listen to and to hear what these arrangements may sound like and so that you may compare the various arrangements. Also, just to let you know, the Octets written in the key of Bb Major have full-length recordings while the Octets in D Major and all Quintets have only the first 25 measures, or so, available to hear. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar which are also available. There are quite a few other arrangements in a variety of styles and I'm certain you will find something else which might interest you as well. Please keep checking because I plan to continue to add new arrangements as often as I can. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon in D will be a challenge to some performers but will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927033 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by Danny Chapa. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 35 pages. Kayla Roth #3444757. Published by Kayla Roth (A0.927033). One of Franz Schubert's most famous works (and indeed, one of the most well-known lieder), Erlkönig, based on poetry by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, tells the story of a father, his sick child, and a malevolent elf-spirit called Erlkönig (elf king or alder king). The child, delirious with fever, insists to his father that the Erlkönig means to harm him; as his father reassures the child that he is only imagining things, the Erlkönig torments him, sweet words turning into threats. The father races through the forest on his galloping horse with his son in his arms, arriving back home only to find that the child has succumbed to his fever. In Schubert's original composition, the galloping of the horse is depicted in incessant triplets played by the pianist, while the vocalist must portray four different characters - the narrator, the father, the son, and the Erlkönig. Danny Chapa's arrangement for four euphoniums preserves these aspects, dividing the vocal roles amongst the four performers: part one is the narrator, part two is the son, part three is the father, and part four is the Erlkönig. The fifth character of the horse is disbursed throughout all parts.Dr. Chapa holds degrees from Louisiana State University and from the University of North Texas and has held faculty positions at Stephen F. Austin State University and at Brookhaven College. He is an active performer and lecturer at concerts and conferences around the United States. For more great euphonium literature, be sure to check out other selections from Atticus Sounds Publications here on Sheet Music Plus!

Christmas,Classical,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and parts. 22 pages. Regis Bookshar #6096687. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813067). Euphonium Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, Burgundian Air/March of the Three Kings, has been arranged for 5 Euphoniums by Regis Bookshar. It incorporates two Traditional French melodies into one exciting arrangement, which, I'm certain, will entertain both performers and audiences alike. It is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for Christmas concerts and church services but could be performed anytime and anywhere. Included are a score and a complete set of parts, written in Treble Clef (22 pages). It begins with a Burgundian Air, played by a solo instrument. The melody is then played by two instruments in harmony before the rest of the ensemble joins in. This is followed by the March of the Three Kings, a Provencal melody (La Marche Des Rois Mages) which dates from the 13th century and recalls the Three Kings of the Christmas story. The peasants probably sang and danced to this tune, even perhaps honoring their own folk heroes, the French dukes, dressed in their shining armor and carrying brilliant banners, as they marched off to the Crusades. Georges Bizet utilized this tune as a farandole, or stately dance, in his incidental music for Alphonse Daudet's play L'Arlesienne (The Girl from Arles). There is a fugal section in which each instrument enters, playing an embellished version of the tune before concluding the arrangement. Also available are other settings of these two Traditional french melodies for a variety of instrumental ensembles as well as numerous other arrangements in a variety of styles. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. You may find something else which might interest you as well. I'm certain that students will enjoy playing this arrangement.
