Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.771853 Composed by Nicholas de Burgundy. Arranged by Gregory Hamilton. Classical. Octavo. 3 pages. Dr. Gregory Hamilton #3245769. Published by Dr. Gregory Hamilton (A0.771853). Kyrie Nicholas de BurgundyNicholes de BurgundyIn the baptismal records of the Cathredale St. Lazare, Autin (Burgundy) there is mention of a Nicholes de Burgundy born probably early April 1571.Little is know of his early life, or where he received his training. He possibly received his musical tutoring from a former master of the choristersat St. Lazare, as by the evidence of his few surviving works, he was trainedin the Palestrina school. His slim ouvre survives in but one manuscript, theMss.Autin.Res. 127.a, presently in the Bibliteque Nationale. There are two surviving masses (untitled) and six motets, one incomplete. This Kyrie is taken from the second of the mass settings, and employs as cantus firmus the chant later to be know as the Missa da Angelus (a nineteenth century moniker). This arrangement approximates theperformance style of Alternatim, used in a number of different waysthroughout Europe at the time. It provides today, an ideal way of forming afruitful liturgical dialogue between the Congregation, Choir and Cantor.Ed. note; some of the texural underlay is conjectural and unclear in the mss.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942125 Composed by St. Thomas Aquinas, John F. Wade. Arranged by Claudia Woolard. Christian,Easter,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Claudia Woolard #6356015. Published by Claudia Woolard (A0.942125). Piano level: intermediate, but can be simplified by eliminating the octaves in the left hand, and playing only one note of the bass line.Organ: Can be adapted for organ.Teaching: A good teaching piece for students who need to strengthen the hand by playing octaves in the bass. A good example of a moving bass line. This music is appropriate for church services, especially during Exposition and Benediction of the Holy Sacrament.   The arrangement can easily be adapted for organ by playing the lowest notes of the bass clef on the pedals and the higher notes of the bass clef in the left hand. The piano level can be simplified by dropping the lower note of the octave when playing the left hand. The Latin words predate the early 1200s when it was written by St. Thomas Aquinas and go back to the early formation of the Church.

Tenor and string quartet - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6385 Auf Texte aus der Bibel. Composed by Naji Hakim. This edition: score and parts. Downloadable, Score and parts. Duration 7 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6385. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6385). German • English. This piece shows my hope to have our churches not only in peace but also in full communion. Naji Hakim Die Taube (The Dove) was commissioned by â€Kirchenmusik bei St. Anna Augsburg†to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the Augsburger Religionsfrieden (Religious peace of Augsburg). It is based on three biblical verses related to peace : Gen. 8/11, Luk. 1/79, Joh. 14/27. The music is through composed and develops the character of the verses with contrasted string textures, putting in relief the expressive vocal line, declamation of light and happiness. The work exists in three versions : 1. for Tenor and string quartet, 2. for Tenor and string orchestra, 3. for Tenor and organ. First performance : by Robert Sellier, Tenor, Capella St. Anna Streichquartett, St. Anna Augsburg, Festkonzert zum Hohen Friedensfest, 8 August 2005. Gen.8/11 : â€And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off. †Luk. 1/79 : â€To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. †Joh.14/27 : â€Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. †...to guide our feet into the way of peace. (Luke 1,79) Words and music bind people together to form fellowships which guide us into the way of peace. Singing or playing together combine bodies and souls, so that our rhythm and breathing becomes one - a sense of belonging to one another is created which instils the very nature of peace. So it is that by becoming an integral part of the music, our feet are guided 'into the way of peace'. In Luke chapter 1, both Maria and Zechariah are carried away, body and soul, in hymns of thanksgiving. They let God´s melody resound in their bodies. Ignatius, one of the Early Fathers of the Church, might have drawn his inspiration from them when he wrote to the Christians of Ephesus around the year 100, Let God´s melody resound in you. The melody of our life is a single voice within God´s great melody; an everlasting celestial melody, in which we join together as integral parts - with time, we are gradually shown which chords we are given to touch and which chords to form with one another. God´s inextinguishable melody has an infinite galaxy of variations. As you would know, a variation is rooted but limitless. At our christening, God gives us a variation - an inextinguishable variation because of his promise, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28, 20). Deeply rooted as we are, God leads us through. He calls us to Life out of His Eternity, He lets his melody reverberate in us and finally calls us back, when we die, to His everlasting future. Let God´s melody resound in you and guide your feet into the way of peace. Pastor Hanne Margrethe Tougaard.

Flute and piano - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q53384 Op. 3. Composed by Edmond Stenosse. Edited by Edmund Wachter and Elisabeth Weinzierl. This edition: Sheet music. (c) 2020 Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz. Classical. Downloadable. Op. 3. 21 pages. Schott Music - Digital #Q53384. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q53384). English • German.Little is known about Edmond Sténosse beyond his date of birth: 7 April 1839. Between 1875 and the early 1900s about twenty works by Edmond Sténosse appeared in print, most of them for the flute and some of them published by Schott. Some of his compositions are military music, which suggests that he may have been the same flautist ‘M. (Monsieur) Sténosse’ who made recordings as a member of the French Garde républicaine in about 1910 – or that the two may have been father and son, considering the dates involved. Do not interpret this to mean that all syllables are to receive equal time.  Speak the text in natural cadence and then sing the pitches in that same natural cadence.  This will best represent Sr. Theophane’s intention. We invite you to browse other creative works by the School Sisters of St. Francis on our website:  https://www.sssf.org/SSSF/Our-Global-Impact/United-States/Music-Ministry/Catalog-of-Music.htm  Further information about our offerings is available from Dr. Sheri Masiakowski, curator of the Heritage Music Collection, at smasiakowski@sssf.org.

Concert Band - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1357134 Composed by Johannes Brahms. Arranged by Nejc BeÄan. 19th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Romantic Period. 188 pages. UpBeat Editions #941763. Published by UpBeat Editions (A0.1357134). The Variations on a theme by Haydn, now also called the St. Anthony Variations is a work in the form of a theme and variations, composed by Johannes Brahms in the summer of 1873 at Tutzing in Bavaria. It consists of a theme in B-flat major based on a “Chorale St. Antoniâ€, eight variations and a finale. It is often said to be the first independent set of variations for orchestra in the history of music. Brahms composed the work on a theme entitled “Chorale St. Antoni†found in a wind ensemble composition. At the time Brahms discovered it, the wind ensemble piece carried an attribution to the composer Joseph Haydn. Brahms titled his own composition accordingly, crediting Haydn for the theme, but publishers in the early nineteenth century often attached the names of famous composers to works by unknown or lesser known composers in order to move inventory. Subsequent research has concluded that the wind piece Brahms used as a source does not fit Haydn’s style. Today the wind ensemble piece remains without clear attribution.A transcription faithful to the original for Concert band.Full set of Score and parts.Further info:www.upbeateditions.comupbeat.editions@gmail.comhttps://www.facebook.com/UpBeatEditions.

Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1385649). John Ireland studied piano with Frederick Cliffe and composition with Charles Villers Stanford at the Royal College of Music in London, where he himself taught between 1923 and 1939, his pupils including Benjamin Britten. He worked as organist and choirmaster at St Luke's Chelsea between 1904 and 1926, while developing his career as a composer. Ireland retired in 1953, settling in the hamlet of Rock in Sussex, where he lived in a converted windmill for the rest of his life. It was there he met the young pianist Alan Rowlands who would be Ireland's choice to record his complete piano music. He died of heart failure aged 82 at Rock Mill in Washington, Sussex, and is buried at St. Mary the Virgin in Shipley, near his home. His epitaph reads Many waters cannot quench love and One of God's noblest works lies here. His organ music belongs largely to the early years of his composing career (1902-1911), however, the 'Meditation' on John Keble's Rogationtide Hymn was written in 1958, and was his very last composition. Arranged for concert band, including parts for string bass and contrabass woodwind, as well as attractive moments for Cor Anglais.
