El Choclo is one of the most famous tangos of all time. Originally, El Choclo was purely an instrumental piece. Later on, Spanish and English lyrics were added to it. El Choclo translates to the corn cob in English. The piece is also known under the English title Kiss of Fire.This version for Saxophone Trio ATB, just like the original, is written in D minor and follows an ABCA form. I’ve written two different intros. [Intro 1] provides a lively and ambitious entry into the piece. The four-bar [Intro 2], on the other hand, sounds a bit more dramatic and has a high degree of recognizability.
