This is the Christmas edition in our ´Victorian´ series for harmonium or reed organ which contains 60  harmonised carol melodies. We have not included the lyrics as this publication is mainly intended for instrumental performance.

The carols may be repeated according to the number of verses indicated in brackets at the beginning of each piece.

The selection represents the carols best known and loved by the Victorians, many having been introduced by Prince Albert himself from Germany. We have kept the original titles in German, Latin or English.

These are easy to medium arrangements also suitable for piano, keyboard or organ.

This is a brilliant arrangement of the first movement Longing of William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony  for a brass choir of four B-flat trumpets, four horns in F, three trombones, euphonium and tuba. William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony was one of the most significant classical orchestra compositions of the early 1930s to incorporate African-American folk influences. Premiered by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in October 1931 at conductor Howard Hanson's notable American Music Festival, it brought the melancholy flavor of the Blues to the symphony. For William Grant Still the Blues was a distinct African-American musical contribution, separate from the spiritual and popular jazz, and he wanted to incorporate it into a symphonic work based on Western classical symphonic instrumentation and forms. As part of the early 20th Century Harlem Renaissance in New York City, this work was enthusiastically received across the USA and overseas. An arrangement of the territorial anthem of American Samoa arranged for Brass Quintet & Percussion.

Amerika Samoa is the territorial anthem of American Samoa. Composed by Napoleon Andrew Tuiteleleapaga and written by Mariota Tiumalu Tuiasosopo, it was officially adopted in 1950.

As an American territory, its official anthem is the Star Spangled Banner (of which an official translation was made into Samoan in January, 2006.) The territorial anthem is a piece entitled Amerika Samoa, written in the native Samoan language.

Napoleon A. Tuiteleleapaga (II) (May 25, 1904 – December 25, 1988) was a prominent figure of the both Western and American Samoan culture, a lawyer and musician.
