Small Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Piano Accompaniment,Soprano Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.764673 Composed by Robert Schumann (1810-1856). Arranged by James Pybus. Contest,Festival,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 6 pages. James Pybus #3112961. Published by James Pybus (A0.764673). Abendlied (Evening Song) is from a cycle of 12 piano duets, Op. 85, written in 1849, a particularly prolific year of composition for Schumann. The great Hungarian violinist Joseph Joachim took the final number, consisting merely of a completely unpianistic one-handed melody with chordal accompaniment for two hands, and arranged it for violin, oboe or flute. The present arrangement expands that list of instruments to include the Soprano Saxophone, in its infancy at the time the piece was composed. An alternate part for Alto Saxophone is also included. The soaring, free melody is reminiscent of Schumann’s Manfred music, written around the same time. This piece is very demanding in terms of breath control and phrasing. It is an excellent choice for a college or university recital programme and is also accessible for an advanced high school player. Duration: 2:30. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1080913 By Imagine Dragons. By Ben McKee, Dan Reynolds, Daniel Platzman, Justin Tranter, Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson, and Wayne Sermon. Arranged by Matt Arnett. Pop,Rock. Score and Parts. 14 pages. Matt Arnett Music #685103. Published by Matt Arnett Music (A0.1080913). This song is awesome and works incredibly well for orchestra. Your students and audience will both have lots of fun, and this is really effective in recruitment concerts as well. The piece starts with some percussive stomps and slaps that sound great on stage and are instantly recognizable. The 6/8 meter may be a challenge if your students haven't played in that rhythmic space before, but the familiarity of the song will help. The song is squarely in D harmonic minor, and as such gives a good opportunity to practice F natural, B flat, and low C# fingerings. This piece is a blast and I know your students will enjoy playing it.
