Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784343 Composed by Joshua Hauser. Instructional. Score and parts. 146 pages. Slide Ride #5288693. Published by Slide Ride (A0.784343). 1 Octave Scale Studies in 15+ keys for 4-part ensembles of like or mixed instruments If this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.·     Choose a tempo.·     Choose a dynamic.·     Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

Harp - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928320 Composed by Rory Dall. Arranged by Karen Peterson. Celtic,Contemporary,Folk. Score. 4 pages. Karen Peterson #5955365. Published by Karen Peterson (A0.928320). This tune was published by Daniel Dow in the 1770s and was probably composed by Roderick Morison (~1656-1713). My double-strung harp arrangement in the dorian mode has rolled, echoed chords, highlighting the depth of sound we can get from having two sets of strings. The accompaniment hand traverses the entire range of the harp, often overlapping the melody hand.Range and key: D dorian (all naturals). 24x2 strings. C below middle C through E.Lever changes: None.Good for: Performance, memorials, therapeutic settings.Double-strung effects: The LH accompaniment frequently overlaps the RH melody range. Rolled accompaniment chords often contain the same note as the melody, creating a rolled echo. Some chords that aren’t rolled have doubled notes in both hands, creating depth. The repetition of LH patterns makes this a great piece to learn overlapping hands with.Characteristics: Neither hand needs to place more than an octave spread. There are some four-note chords (always LH 1-3-5-8). The RH has almost no chords. Few of the chords are inversions. There are very few sixteenth notes; no more than three played together with one hand. The LH has two long-run patterns (1-5-8-9-10 and 1-5-8-9) which can be played with cross-unders or a wandering thumb. The RH has a few cross-overs/unders.Finger placement: Finger number suggestions are provided for key phrases. Numbers above the notes are suggestions for the RH (marked with R or R# when they occur in the bottom staff). Numbers below the notes are suggestions for the LH (marked with L or L# when they occur in the top staff). To see what I mean, view the PDF of finger placement examples in Rorie Dall's Sister's Lament: www.EnjoyTheHarp.com/s/rorie-dalls-sisters-lament-notes-enjoy-the-harp.pdfNotation: Chord symbols are provided. Treble clef is used for both staves, with 8vb for the low notes. Length: 4 pages. 60 measures, plus 12 if you take the repeat. 4 minutes.Page turns: If you are printing, double-side pages 2 and 3 so that there is only one page turn. The RH can be used on all notes of page 2’s last measure, so that the LH can turn the page. If you are using single pages on a tablet, you can do something similar at the end of page 3. Page 1’s turn is manageable. Large Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1143137 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 23 pages. RayThompsonMusic #743323. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1143137). Arranged wind dectet/bass 2nd mvt Lento - The String Quartet in F major, Op. 96, nicknamed the American Quartet, is the 12th string quartet composed by Antonín Dvořák. It was written in 1893, during Dvořák's time in the United States of America. The quartet is one of the most popular in the chamber music repertoire. For the London premiere of his New World symphony, Dvořák wrote: As to my opinion I think that the influence of this country (it means the folk songs)) is to be seen, and that this and all other works (written in America) differ very much from my other works as well as in colour as in character,. A characteristic, unifying element throughout the quartet is the use of the pentatonic scale. This scale gives the whole quartet its open, simple character, a character that is frequently identified with American folk music. However, the pentatonic scale is common in many ethnic musics worldwide, and Dvořák had composed pentatonic music, being familiar with such Slavonic folk music examples, before coming to America Specific American influences have been doubted: In fact the only American thing about the work is that it was written there, writes Paul Griffiths. The specific American qualities of the so-called American Quartet are not easily identifiable, writes Lucy Miller, ...Better to look upon the subtitle as simply one assigned because of its composition during Dvořák's American tour. I have NOT simply copied the string parts across to the winds, as other have done. Rather, I have arranged the piece as though it had been written for wind ensemblet, so have given the horns repeated notes , in the same way as the slow movement of the slow movement Dvorak's wind serenade., and also used the horns to sustain. Some of the arpeggio figures remain, but in a simplified form.and are shared between clarinets and bassoons.

Violin Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1466005 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Leo Silva. Pop,Rock. 2 pages. MP Sheet Music #1044607. Published by MP Sheet Music (A0.1466005). All My Loving is a Beatles song, composed by Paul McCartney (although it is credited to Lennon/McCartney) for the 1963 album With the Beatles. It was one of the few examples of compositions where McCartney wrote the lyrics before the music; the text was apparently conceived as a poem, composed while he was shaving.McCartney originally envisioned it as a country & western song, and it was written on piano during a rehearsal for the Beatles' tour with Roy Orbison; George Harrison added his Nashville-style guitar solo to the recording. Using the letter format in the song's lyrics, also used in P.S. I Love You.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1248579 By Brian Golden. By Brian Golden. Arranged by Brian Golden. Classical,Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. Brian Golden #843071. Published by Brian Golden (A0.1248579). Prelude 17 in E Major Lydian from 24 Preludes for the Piano in Major and Minor Modes by composer Brian Golden   The creative concept in writing these preludes is to provide a link to past preludes written for the keyboard, and in particular to the works of J.S. Bach and Frederic Chopin, whose works stand as essential repertoire for any student of the piano.  Using Bach’s and Chopin’s examples, my goal was to compose in all twenty-four keys, yet offer my own variation on the progression of key signatures – Bach’s being a pattern of major to parallel minor progressing chromatically through all keys, and Chopin’s a pattern of major to relative minor keys progressing clockwise through the circle of fifths.  In order to expand my harmonic and melodic possibilities, I have included the modal keys rather than only the major and harmonic minor keys, and have chosen to work counterclockwise through the circle of fifths, which is a more natural harmonic progression.  Therefore, all major preludes resolve from one to another V-I, as well as do all the minor preludes.    While there are seven modal scales, I decided to leave out the locrian modes for the following reasons.  First, due to the diminished fifth, the locrian mode cannot be thought of as either major nor minor.  Second, the locrian mode did not have a relative key to pair with, since there were no other keys with the identical characteristic notes.    In creating the key architecture, I determined that there was only one solution to pairing major and relative minor scales based on a shared parent key and characteristic note - ionian/aolian, mixolydian/phrygian and lydian/dorian.  This specific order of modal scales is the only order that would enable composing in all twelve key signatures.  Finally, the inspiration for each prelude came from playing through several other preludes in the same keys - mostly by Bach and Chopin - and letting their themes and styles influence me in the writing of my own.
