Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Clarinet - Digital Download SKU: A0.1007685 Composed by Fanny Cecile Mendelssohn. Arranged by Patrick Giles. Romantic Period. 4 pages. Patrick Giles #3573341. Published by Patrick Giles (A0.1007685). One of a number of songs written by Fanny Mendelssohn (Felix's sister) and often mis-attributed to Felix.  (Fanny's family were supportive of her musical efforts as long as she kept them private - getting recognition as a composer in her own right proved a major challenge.)Although Fanny was fully at home writing full orchestral works in the Romantic style, she also produced cheerful little songs for voice and piano such as this, which is suitable for intermediate / school-age players. This version is arranged for Clarinet Quartet of three Bb clarinets and one Bass clarinet.

Small Ensemble Flute,Piano,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1073271 By Helene Schulthess. By Fanny Hünerwadel (1826 – 1854). Arranged by Helene Schulthess. Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 24 pages. Helene Schulthess #677536. Published by Helene Schulthess (A0.1073271). The composer Fanny Hünerwadel (1826 in Lenzburg - 1854 in Rome) came from a long-established family of the town of Lenzburg. She was the eldest child of the doctor Johann Friedrich Hünerwadel and Regula Speerli, who were both enthusiastic music lovers. After first being taught by her mother, Hünerwadel learned to play the piano in Lenzburg with Philipp Tietz, Joseph Breitenbach, and Ludwig Kurz and belonged to the local singing society. From 1846 she studied piano, singing, music theory and composition with Hans Nägeli and with Wagner's friend Alexander Müller in Zurich. During her time in Zurich she made the acquaintance of Johann W. Kalliwoda, Richard Wagner, Ferdinand Huber, Franz Liszt, Franz Abt, Wilhelm Baumgartner and Henri Vieuxtemps. In 1852, she played Johann Nepomuk Hummel's Rondo brillant in a subscription concert of the Zurich General Music Society, which became the current Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra. For further studies, she traveled to Florence and Rome in 1853. In Florence she took singing lessons with Romani. In Rome in 1853 she was the guest of the artistic families Corrodi and Imhof and took lessons with the singing teacher Parisotti. Hünerwadel died of typhoid fever in Rome on April 27, 1854, and was buried there on April 30. Six of Hünerwadels seven preserved piano songs were published posthumously (in 1854). Her great-nephew was the composer, painter, and publicist Peter Mieg (1906-1990) Source: Wikipedia.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1403057 Composed by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847), Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel (1805-1847). Arranged by Stephen Levintow. 19th Century,Romantic Period. 29 pages. Cypress Publishing #986241. Published by Cypress Publishing (A0.1403057). The Lieder for voice and piano by Felix Mendelssohn, while of high quality, have mostly been overshadowed by those of his contemporary and friend Robert Schumann. But his Lieder ohne Worte (Songs Without Words) for piano solo with no vocal text, were and remain immensely popular, and had a great influence on his fellow composers, creating a genre of short poetic pieces for piano accessible to skilled amateurs and students as well as professionals. This set of four arrangements for string quartet begins with the best known and most loved of his vocal songs, Auf Flügeln des Gesanges (On Wings of Song), a setting of a poem by Heinrich Heine. Following are two Songs Without Words, a fine untitled one in G Major, and the famous Frühlingslied (Spring Song). In between them is a piece by his older sister, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, an accomplished composer with a catalog of over 450 works, some of which were originally published under Felix’s name. Like Felix, she wrote Lieder both with a sung text, and with no words, which she called Lieder für das Pianoforte. This little jewel is one of the latter, from her Opus 8. She gave it the title Lied (Lenau), a reference to the poet Nikolaus Lenau (1802-1850). But with neither sung text nor poem title indicated, it is a little mysterious. A gentle sinuous melody leads to some bold modulations before returning, not in the expected tonic key but on the dominant. Only in the last few bars does it resolve to the home key. The arrangement transposes the original D-Flat Major to D Major, which lies better for strings. CYPRESS PUBLISHING is pleased to be the imprint for arrangements for string ensemble by Stephen Levintow. He is a free lance professional violist and violinist specializing in chamber music, who began making string quartet and trio arrangements for wedding, party and corporate events, to expand the repertory or to improve on existing versions. Selections include unusual pieces by both familiar and lesser-known composers, plus standard classical and popular favorites. The goal is to produce high-quality, musically satisfying arrangements faithful to the composer’s original material, yet sight-readable in most cases by working professionals or intermediate to advanced students. The full range of normal string technique is employed, while avoiding unnecessary technical complexity. Melodic material is distributed throughout the four voices where appropriate, to maintain listener and performer interest. All parts and scores are set in Sibelius© software format, with careful attention to legibility and page turns.

Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Ukulele,Voice,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565430 By Sharon Wilson. By Fanny J. Crosby and George Frederick Root. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Children,Folk,Instructional,Sacred,Traditional. Score and parts. 12 pages. Sharon Wilson #4356999. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565430). This sheet music is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). This arrangement includes two verses. The first verse is easy with fewer notes. The second verse is intermediate and expands the melody by adding more notes. If you want to learn (practice) only the easy verse, an optional ending is provided or it can be skipped to perform the two verses together. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord chart is also provided to aid in the learning and teaching of this song. Lyrics (by Fanny Crosby) are provided as well for sing along enjoyment.  This set of scores uses black and white noteheads and is best suited for musicians already familiar with reading standard music notation. For beginning musicians, this same set of scores is available (sold separately) with color coded noteheads.Though this sheet music is notated for Handbells and Boomwhackers®, this song is playable by any 13-note, C to C chromatic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel. Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one or two notes to each person. Note assignment suggestions are included.Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers® * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® (this would amplify the sound and allow more people to participate)* use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, children’s ministriesThis song is one of the 20 arrangements in the collection Folk Songs for 13-note Bells and Boomwhackers® (with Black and White Notes), VOL. 2.
