O primeiro andamento, procura retratar o ambiente sombrio do desconhecido, a incerteza que muitas vezes existe na nossa própria vida quando experienciamos algo novo, algo que nos é desconhecido, daí o seu registo grave e sombrio, um pouco em jeito de mistério. Segue-se o andamento Adventure, este exprime a aventura inerente a esta descoberta, os momentos mais energéticos, aventureiros e perigosos vividos por este grupo de exploradores. Os dois andamentos seguintes, Waterfall e Serenity, exprimem um pouco do que é esta ilha, do seu espaço, as quedas de água a serenidade e tranquilidade existente, o verde que estamos habituados a sentir inerente a estes espaços, tendo grande ênfase no naipe das madeiras, com um pequeno solo do oboé, bastante expressivo. Por fim, a peça termina com dois andamentos num estilo mais épico, Glory e Apogee, que vão enaltecer e exaltar o feito conseguido por este grupo de jovens aventureiros, procurando perpetuar este feito para sempre no tempo.

The Skye Boat Song, among the most popular of all Scottish folk tunes, deals with the flight of Bonnie Prince Charlie (Charles Edward Stewart) from Scotland to the Isle of Skye in 1746, after having been defeated on Culloden Moor by the English Army of King George II. The present setting, for either Tenor or Bass Trombone and Piano, is mostly lyrical and passes through a series of episodes that evoke watery images in various ways.  A stormy episode which superimposes a more martial tune (relying heavily on the familiar scotch snappy rhythm) against a variation of the original folk tune leads to brief quotations from Mendelssohn’s Hebrides overture (the Isle of Skye is part of the group of islands known as the Hebrides) before a short recapitulation of the theme.

Blue Hawaii is a popular song written by Leo Robin and Ralph Rainger for the 1937 Paramount Pictures film Waikiki Wedding, starring Bing Crosby and Shirley Ross. Crosby recorded a version with backing by Lani McIntyre and His Hawaiians, which was released in 1937 as the B-side of Sweet Leilani. This reached the No. 5 spot in the charts of the day during a 13-week-stay. On the Delaware at Carpenter's Point explores a kayaking trip at the very northern point of New Jersey. From the river one can see the High Point monument, the highest point in the state, as one crosses under bridges, passes islands, and speeds through small rapids. II. The Fields of Walpack at Dusk paints the tiny, rural township of Walpack, with its quiet fields and forests. The central theme is In Babilone: an old Dutch melody, echoing the regions colonial-era settlers. III. Yellow Frame's Harvest Home is a fantasy on Come, Ye Thankful People, Come, illustrating the late summer community dinner, Harvest Home run by the Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church, of Fredon township.
