Brass Ensemble,Brass Quintet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774857 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. Arranged by Alex Wilson. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 22 pages. Alexander Wilson #54457. Published by Alexander Wilson (A0.774857). Originally untitled, this movement from Felix Mendelssohn's incidental music to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream takes its name from the first line of lyrics. You Spotted Snakes with Double Tongues is a song from the point of view of fairy attendants, who are trying to keep various creatures from disturbing their queen's slumber. As for the music, the style is delicate and lighthearted with a touch of mischief. A great contrast from typical heavy-handed brass literature and a staple of early Romantic music, this piece would make a great addition to any brass quintet collection.  Performance time is approximately 4:15.  Visit our website, www.tootsuitebrasspublishing.com, for a catalog of our arrangements available through sheetmusicplus.com.

This means you could perform it as a string orchestra piece (like a string choir), with the cellos and basses doubling each other. The reason for each part being written for all of the standard orchestral string instruments is to maximize how many different types of ensembles can perform it. This type of flexibility of ensemble is ideal for educators. It is great for teaching younger students basic chamber music skills, as well as giving students a chance to work on playing beyond 1st position. This download includes all of the parts: Violin, Viola, and Cello or Bass. Each part is written in score form. So, the Violin part includes Violin 1, 2, & 3. The Viola part includes Viola 1, 2 & 3. The Cello or Bass part includes Cello or Bass 1, 2, & 3.
