Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Bassoon,English Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.796881

Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Stephanie Daige. Classical,Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. 30 pages. Stephanie Daige #3507683. Published by Stephanie Daige (A0.796881).

The Trio in C Major, Op. 87 for Two Oboes and English horn is one of Beethoven’s greatest pieces of chamber music for wind instruments. Experienced oboists are sure to be familiar with this work, and likely have studied it and performed it many times. Beethoven wrote so beautifully and brilliantly for woodwinds. Audiences always love to hear it performed, and I never tire of performing or teaching it. Now, with my transcription for oboe, English horn, and bassoon, you can invite a bassoonist friend to join in the fun!

This Finalemovement (the last of four movements) is technically challenging (but not toodifficult), and enjoyable to play and listen to, suitable for advanced studentsor professionals. Students will learn so much aboutphrasing, articulation, dynamics, balance, and expression from studying thispiece; and the level of musicality in this work is suitable for a professionalperformance. It would work well in achamber music recital or student recital. Duration is approximately 5 minutes.

In order to facilitate page turns, I have made surethat a rest appears at the end of each page whenever possible.

Thank you for considering purchasing my arrangement! I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as I have enjoyed arranging it. Please checkout my other arrangements at Sheet Music Plus.

Composed by Domenico Gallo/Giovanni Pergolesi. Arranged by Ray Thpmpson. Baroque. 8 pages. RayThompsonMusic #1036444. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1457421).

Arranged wind quintet

The original baroque music used by Igor Stravinsky for his ballet Pulcinella was originally attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi, as they were so described in a Mr R. Bremner's original 1780 London publication. They were also arranged later by Hugo Riemann, and were again wrongly attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi.

However Most of the original music is by Domenico Gallo (including the Finale of the suite), one or two are by Giovanni Pergolesi (including the Menuetto)

The Pulcinella Suite for small chamber orchestra and 3 vocalists which was derived from the ballet, was written in 1922 and has no vocal parts.

This is the original music he used as the basis of the Minuetto/Finale.

But even though Stravinsky used Gallo's and Pergolesi's melodies and bass lines with little change in the earler movements of the Suite he managed to put his own unmistakable stamp on the music through his use of modern harmonies and occasional rhythmic modifications.

However in the Menuetto and Finale he changes things considerably, with more dischordant harmonies and rhythm changes.

My arrangement is of the the original two pieces:

My arrangement  uses Gallo's/Pergolesi's classical/baroque harmonies.

Check out my other arrangements of other music used by Stravinsky in his Pulcinella Suite.

Composed by Alexander Borodin, Cesar Antonovich Cui, Liadov, and Nikolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. Children,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 36 pages. Arkady Leytush #4810761. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008363).

The original version of this music was written for piano in 3 hands (teacher and student).  I have orchestrated this for a large symphony orchestra.  Equally important is participation of a child of 4-5 years old as a soloist, who will be playing on the piano the main theme of Tati-Tati at the beginning and at the end.

It all started as a musical joke from Borodin in a circle of his friends-composers: Rimsky-Korsakov, Cui and Lyadov. The joke turned into collective work which resulted into 24 variations with the finale paraphrasing Tati-Tati.

I usually tell this story to the audience before performing.

24 Variations with Finale is an composition that is oriented for family and children symphonic concerts, when the educational part is of great importance for the  young listeners to understand classical music, the sound and characteristics of individual musical instruments and groups of the orchestra, what development principles are used by each composer, etc.

 F. Liszt gave the best assessment to this composition. He pointed out to how the composer’s skills of the above named composers cold transform such insignificant musical theme-joke Tati-Tati into a brilliant and vibrant composition!

This is the first part of composition with a full name: Borodin, Cui, Lyadov, Rimsky-Korsakov - PARAPHRASES on an Unchanged Theme Tati-Tati, 24 Variations with Finale and 9 Musical Pieces: Tarantella, Galop, Fugetta B-A-C-H, Waltz, Cortege, Lullaby, Marche Funebre, Requiem, Carillon, orchestrated by Arkady Leytush

Composed by Gustav Mahler. Arranged by David Fetter. 20th Century,Romantic Period. 24 pages. Gordon Cherry #863680. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1271282).

The Finale movement of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2, (also known as the Resurrection), is a monumental and awe-inspiring composition that serves as the climax of the entire symphony. It is a grand choral movement that combines orchestral forces with vocal soloists and a large choir.

In this exquisite section of hushed, whispered, and mysterious music, arranged beautifully by David Fetter, the famous Choral section from the Finale (numbers 32-39 in the score) is set for 8-part Trombone Ensemble. This powerful section of the Finale is emotionally charged and yet is performed at almost a whisper.

This arrangement of about 6-minutes in length is suitable for advanced performers. FYI....this is NOT the famous Trombone Choral, rather the hushed, whispered section featuring the chorus. It is truly a work of genius.

Composed by A. Ponchielli. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Concert,Instructional,Opera,Standards. 19 pages. Diego Marani #3434771. Published by Diego Marani (A0.527767).

Dance of the Hours (Italian: Danza delle ore) is a short ballet and is the act 3 finale of the opera La Gioconda composed by Amilcare Ponchielli. It depicts the hours of the day through solo and ensemble dances. Later performed on its own, the Dance of the Hours was at one time one of the best known and most frequently performed ballets. It became even more widely known after its inclusion in the 1940 Disney animated film Fantasia where it is depicted as a comic ballet featuring anthropomorphized ostriches, hippos, elephants, and alligators.

In this arrangement for flute quartet (Flute 1, Flute 2, Flute 3, Flute 4 or Alto Flute) we have the finale of the ballet, a vigorous can-can introduced by an abrupt change of tempo to allegro vivacissimo.
