For Harpe solo. Composed by Thierry Pecou. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 8 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q10601. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q10601).

Although the composer Thierry Pécou mostly does without experimental playing techniques, an exemplary modern harp sound emerges from among soft whispering sounds and massive chord clusters. Tone colours associatively modelled on the sparkling green of jade crystallize. Pécou composed 'Harpe de jade' for the international harp competition of the Cité des Arts in Paris. The work is dedicated to the internationally renowned harpist Isabelle Moretti. 'Harpe de jade' is the first work of the young French composer published by Schott Music.

SKU: S9.Q6621

(Drei Perspektiven). Composed by Kenneth Hesketh. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 9 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6621. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6621).

'Die hängende Figur ist Judas' (The hanging figure is Judas) was commissioned by Dr. Margitta Giera as a gift for the German sculptor Michael Langer. Hesketh’s first ideas for the work came from a photograph of the Great Tympanum carving of the Last Judgement at St. Foy Cathedral in Conques, France showing an image of the hanged Judas surrounded by mocking demons. Two violent outer movements frame a bleak central section with each movement of the piece unfolds a different perspective of a swinging motif, be it a chord, a gesture or a rhythm. This is a demanding work which will challenge the very best players.

SKU: S9.Q19812

Composed by Heinrich Poos. This edition: choral score. Schott Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Schott Music - Digital #Q19812. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q19812).

German.

Heinrich Poos is not the first composer inspired by Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock's poem 'Die Auferstehung', as even Gustav Mahler had already used these verses in the fifth movement of his Second Symphony 'Auferstehung'. Mahler was inspired to use a choral movement at the end of his symphony at the funeral of the conductor Hans von Bülow where a choir sang a chorale based on said text by Klopstock. Heinrich Poos wrote his deeply moving choral piece in remembrance of the organist Hubert Schoonbrodt.

SKU: A0.1371762

Composed by Socrates Arvanitakis. 21st Century,Contemporary. 75 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #955993. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1371762).

GENERAL PREFACE

This edition of violin and violoncello duets follows closely my publication of the same Greek folk pieces for classical guitar. The arrangements for guitar solo were written in two-part counterpoint and followed the strophic form of the folk songs involved. The melodic transcriptions of the folk melodies were not based in any particular performance, also avoiding the elaborate in many cases instrumental introductions associated with these songs. Thus, only the vocal melodies in a general recognizable version were presented. This new presentation for instrumental duets will stay with this generalised melodic version (without exploiting the instrumental introductions), but the form from strophic will become ternary (ABA). In the middle section the main melody will be played in the lower voice and the original guitar contrapuntal voice will be used in the upper voice if by chance it includes invertible counterpoint, otherwise new material will be added to fit the rules but also the intended harmony.
The total collection is centred more on the music from mainland Greece and less in that from the Islands.
The three dance rhythms of Kalamatianos (7/8), Tsamikos (3/4), and Syrtos Balos (2/4) are predominant in the whole first collection.

Clarinet in Bb and organ - easy to intermediate - Digital Download

SKU: S9.Q41692

For Elke Mascha Blankenburg. Composed by Barbara Heller. This edition: Sheet music. Clarinet Library. Downloadable. Duration 8 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q41692. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q41692).

The formal structure of this organ chorale with solo clarinet follows a Jewish death prayer. The solo clarinet represents the chant of the traditional prayer leader while the organ plays the response of the congregation of the synagogue. The piece ends with a cadenza of the solo clarinet to which an optional organ improvisation can be added. Barbara Heller dedicated this chorale to the memory of Elke Mascha Blankenburg (1943–2013). Talking about her before the first performance, the composer said: ‘She was open-hearted with a really tender soul, very trusting. Her creativity knew no limits; she was also an almost fanatical campaigner for music by women. In the music you will hear now I have attempted to convey some aspects of her personality: charming, loving, obstinate, committed, volatile, tragic, crazy, untamed, tender and anguished.’ The various sections of this chorale may be performed in a correspondingly contrasting manner: searching, hesitant, visionary, focused, volatile, accusatory, hopeful, etc., with use of rubato and powerful contrasts in dynamic and tone quality.

Director's Score. Composed by Ruth Elaine Schram and Scott Schram. This edition: Director's Score. Christian Elementary Musical; Church Musicals; Performance Music Ensemble; Worship Resources. Children; Christmas; Sacred; Winter. Score. 38 pages. Jubilate Music Group - Digital #00-22799. Published by Jubilate Music Group - Digital (JX.00-22799).

English.

Join us as we turn back the clock to a time long before the first Christmas. As the clock ticks and the years pass, we hear the stories of Isaiah and Zechariah. We watch with amazement as the old, childless couple, Zechariah and Elizabeth, are blessed with the birth of their son, John. We gaze in wonder upon the scene as Mary receives the news that she is chosen to carry God's Son into the world. And we look with tenderness upon the manger scene as Jesus, the Messiah, is born in a humble cattle stall in Bethlehem. Both charming and humorous, 'Twas the Year Before Christmas is the perfect choice for church children's choirs, Christian schools or Sunday schools. Flexible and easy to teach. Approximately 20 minutes.

WoO 65. Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Edited by Robert Schafer and Wilhelm Ohmen. This edition: Sheet music. (c) 2020 Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz. Classical. Downloadable. Volume WoO 65. 18 pages. Schott Music - Digital #Q53307. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q53307).

The virtuoso 24 variations on a theme by the Mainz court Kapellmeister Vincenzo Righini were the first of Beethoven’s works to be published by Schott in 1791 (plate number 145). The theme comes from the collection ‘XII Ariette Italiane’ for voice and piano (plate number 92), published by Schott in 1788. The collaboration with Beethoven did not continue until around 35 years later with the operas 121b to 128 and 131 (including the Missa solemnis and the 9th Symphony). Beethoven’s last words, according to Anton Schindler, also connected Beethoven with the publishing house (‘Too bad, too late’): the delivery of the Rhein wine, ordered from Schott following his doctor’s advice, only reached him on his deathbed.
