Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.744716 Composed by Phil Lehenbauer. Classical,Contemporary,Renaissance,Sacred,Traditional. Score. 19 pages. Phil Lehenbauer #6080713. Published by Phil Lehenbauer (A0.744716). This is the complete suite for trombone and organ, with movements- 1. Fanfare, 2. Aria on Amazing Grace, and 3. Renaissance Gladness.  This is written for the younger, less-experienced player, as all three movements feature limited range, repeated rhythmic motives, and easy key signatures.  For example, movement 2. Aria only uses the first three positions!  Now you have an accessible work to feature that young musician, whether for church services, special events, or recitals.  Complete videos of all three movements are on the YouTube channel of OrganGuyPhil (the composer).  Each movement is also available separately here on SMP.

Guitar - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.964305 Composed by Peng Xiuwen and Ren Guang. Arranged by Evans, Jack. Contemporary. Guitar Tab. 7 pages. Jack Stanley Evans #5899581. Published by Jack Stanley Evans (A0.964305). Silver Clouds Chasing the MoonSilver Clouds Chasing the Moon was composed in 1935 for the EMI Chinese orchestra by Ren Guang and Nie Er. It is also known by the title: Colourful Clouds Chasing the Moon, which creates the image of a colourful (or silver) night sky, in which the clouds and moon chase each other. The moon is an important symbol for Chinese people, who have a custom of worshipping it, dating back 3,000 years. Every year, the mid-autumn festival is held in China, on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, which usually falls in September. During this festival, Chinese people celebrate with their families and admire the full moon whilst eating ‘moon cakes’. Colourful Clouds Chasing the Moon is commonly performed during this festival and is also used by Chinese cake shops to advertise moon cakes, which increases its association with the mid-autumn festival and popularity amongst Chinese people. As well as being used to sell cakes, this piece is a staple of Chinese instrumental repertoire and has been arranged for a number of different instruments and ensembles, including solo piano, solo guzheng, guitar duo, harp duo, and wine glasses. This guitar arrangement is quite challenging; it includes a lot of intricate lines and arpeggios. Play the semiquaver sextuplets in the intro by dragging the thumb across the bottom three strings and quickly plucking each of the top three strings individually with the first three fingers. Most of this piece is played with standard classical fingerpicking technique, apart from the tapped arpeggios in bars 36 and 37.

String Ensemble,String Trio - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.913984 Composed by Arthur Breur. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 15 pages. Floating Home Music #4819957. Published by Floating Home Music (A0.913984). Glacier Bay for String Trio. An audio impression of the experience of being in Glacier Bay. This is the premier performance of Glacier Bay by String Trio Black Diamonds - just one day after Arthur Breur composed the piece and provided the trio with the score and parts. They performed the piece in the atrium of the Norwegian Sun on July 3, 2016. With gratitude to Captain Richard Svardmark and the entire crew of the Norwegian Sun. Arthur Breur composed Glacier Bay in a single day on the Cruise Ship Norwegian Sun as it toured Glacier Bay, Alaska. Waking very early that day, Arthur was greeted with foggy, gray, mysterious views in an eerie northern twilight, and the mood set him immediately to composing. As he often does, he started by constructing the ten letters of the name Glacier Bay into musical notes. He divided these ten notes into three similar musical motifs, first three notes [G-E-A], then four notes [C-B-E-D], then three notes again [B-A-D]. These motifs open the piece, in a section that represents the eerie, misty, wet, half-lit morning. Then-expressing wonder and excitement upon seeing the beauty and majesty of Alaska’s glaciers-the motifs are connected with moving lines of notes that turn the original disconnected motifs into a flowing, uplifting melody. Between stops at the enormous bay’s different glaciers, the ship moved slowly through foggy vistas. The middle section of the piece represents this with a more dissonant, nervous sound. (Listen carefully for the sound of the ship’s fog horn-which really is a low F-sharp!-played by the cello.) But after passing through the fog, there was another awe-inspiring glacier, and so the music returns to the uplifting, flowing melody once again. Glacier Bay for String Trio Composed for the String Trio Black Diamonds: - Tamara Sieviieva - Mykyta Denysov - Anastasia Gorokhova  *** Upon waking to a mysterious foggy morning on the Norwegian Sun cruise ship in Glacier Bay, Alaska, I was almost immediately possessed by my Muse. (That’s the only way I can describe it; every moment that I was not composing-even WHILE looking at the beautiful, awe-inspiring glaciers! - I was hearing the melody in my head and aching to compose.)  *** Duration: 5m Composer: Arthur Breur Instruments: Violin, Cello, String Trio, String Trio (vn-vn-vc) Format: Score, Set of Parts Genres: 21st Century, Contemporary Classical, Post-Romantic, Neo-Classical Level: Intermediate https://www.floatinghomemusic.com

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1208769 Composed by Jonathan Williams. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Jonathan Williams #806871. Published by Jonathan Williams (A0.1208769). Vagabond Jonathan Williams (b. 1991)As the title suggests, Vagabond lacks a tonal center, or key (i.e. C major). Some refer to all such music as “atonal,†yet sections of this piece include a variety of chords and chord progressions that hint towards traditional tonality. For example, the first three rolled chords could be labeled B diminished, A major seventh, and F dominant ninth, respectively. Regardless of their possible names, these are chords commonly heard in tonal music, especially classical and jazz works. While the piece weaves through hinted key areas, the melody wanders as well. The first two measures of the unaccompanied, opening theme include all twelve pitch classes (A, A♯, B, …, G, G♯) exactly once. This is called a “row,†and it is essential to twelve-tone music as first created by Arnold Schönberg (1874 - 1951). The remainder of Vagabond exclusively includes manipulations of the opening row. Various renderings of the row are audibly similar, while the majority obscure their resemblance by splitting the row across the hands, combining adjacent notes into chords, or modifying the rhythm. After a final reprise of the opening, Vagabond commences with a series of fading chords and a last chord that may sound like a dominant seventh chord in its least common inversion. In this context, the sound and feel of a dominant seventh chord is lost. While this quality is frequently used as a penultimate chord to instill intensity before an anticipated finale, in Vagabond it serves to let the listener imagine an endless wandering.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1010790 Composed by Steven Trinkl. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 21 pages. Steven J. Trinkl, Jr. #2836771. Published by Steven J. Trinkl, Jr. (A0.1010790). This four-movement suite is designed to be a modest challenge for the advanced pianist and utilizes techniques associated with 21st century music, yet in a decidedly tonal and accessible form. Each of the four movements, while utilizing the same quartal- and quintal-based harmonic language, has a unique feel. The movements are as follows:I. SKAThis movement draws its rhythm and form from Jamaican ska music of the 1960s, but it is also imbued with a sense of chaos and panic contrary to the relaxed feel of its namesake. It demands rhythmic fluidity and precise hand placement, but rhythmically, it is the simplest of the four movements.II. BERCEUSEThis movement draws its inspiration from the lullabies of Chopin and Liszt, yet subverts the expectations given by its name considerably. Dark, mysterious, and suspenseful harmonies contrast over the sweet rocking motions of the rhythm before giving way to a stormy climax before the piece fades back to its original theme. In contrast to the almost mechanical nature of the first movement, this movement is overly expressive and lyrical, even during its most turbulent sections.III. MARCHA playful reference to the marches of John Philip Sousa, this movement makes rhythmic references to a few different pieces, including Fairest of the Fair. It is a return of sorts to the chaotic atmosphere of the first movement, and it ends rather abruptly, providing a sense of suspense before the final movement.IV. TOCCATAThe longest and most complex of the movements, Toccata combines the tonal and harmonic structures of the first three movements with complicated, syncopated rhythms and unusual time signatures. A number of themes are manipulated via augmentation, inversion, retrograde, and diminution, and abrupt changes in texture and tempo grab the listener's attention.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1110548 Composed by African-American Spiritual. Arranged by John Lehrack. Folk,Historic,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 4 pages. GGLS Publishing #712849. Published by GGLS Publishing (A0.1110548). This arrangement of the African-American spiritual, Were You There, takes us through the crucifixion of Jesus, his entombment and resurrection. After the plaintive introduction, the first verse is a modified arrangement of the standard hymn and asks Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Verse 2 begins with a little hope that quickly turns to disbelief at watching nails being driven into the Christ: Were you there when they nailed him to a tree?. The left hand simulates the hammer and slowly, slowly, Jesus dies. The key of the third verse is lower than the first two, minor and dissonant and symbolic of Christ being lowered into a tomb. Were you there when they laid him in the tomb? The opening motif returns now, full of quiet despair but gradually evolves into light shining from the tomb and bringing forth hope. Finally, the last verse Were you there when he rose up from the grave? is in an entirely new key from the first three verses and moves with more excitement. Joy builds and the left hand never stays down for long, constantly rising again and again as Christ is raised from the dead in triumph. We conclude with a softening and slowly into contented joy, secure in our faith and knowledge of rebirth.
