Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.710771 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Thomas Jancso. 20th Century. Score. 4 pages. Thomas Jancso #6115053. Published by Thomas Jancso (A0.710771). Golliwogg's Cakewalk from Children's Corner by Debussy  At the time of its composition, Golliwoggs were in fashion, due partly to the popularity at that time of the novels of Florence Kate Upton (golliwog is a later usage). They were stuffed black dolls with red pants, red bow ties and wild hair, somewhat reminiscent of the blackface minstrels of the time. The cakewalk was a dance or a strut, and the dancer with the most elaborate steps won a cake (took the cake). The piece is a ragtime with its syncopations and banjo-like effects. The dynamic range is quite large and very effective.

Raymond Fenech #677519. Published by Raymond Fenech (A0.1073256). O mio babbino caro (Oh my dear Papaâ€) is an aria from the opera Gianni Schicchi (1918) by Giacomo Puccini to a libretto by Giovacchino Forzano. It is sung by Lauretta after tensions between her father Schicchi and the family of Rinuccio, the boy she loves, have reached a breaking point that threatens to separate her from Rinuccio. It provides an interlude expressing lyrical simplicity and love in contrast with the atmosphere of hypocrisy, jealousy, double-dealing, and feuding in medieval Florence. It provides the only set-piece in the through-composed opera. This Aria is arranged by Raymond Fenech The duration is 3.21 minutes and it is an Intermediate level piece.
