Small Ensemble Bass Guitar,Piano Accompaniment,Tenor Drum,Vibraphone,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1044838 By Mark R Lewis. By Mark R Lewis. Celtic,Folk,Irish. Score and parts. 46 pages. Mark R Lewis #649456. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1044838). This original song tells a fairy tail in the style of a Celtic folk song. Both the story and the tune are wholly original and were composed as part of a music production class that Mark participated in during the spring of 2022. This song tells the story of a young boy's adventure in the woods, his skepticism towards what the old folks say, and the results of his failure to listen to them. This piece by Mark Lewis is intended for a vocal soloist with two part vocal accompaniment. The voice parts are all written in treble clef for ease of reading but the Lead should be sing-able by most singers. The Upper Harmony should be sing-able by all except contraltos and true basses, and the Lower Harmony will sound best with altos, baritones, or basses. The instrumental parts consist of vibraphone, piano, bass guitar, and floor tom parts. Any mellow metallophone would be an appropriate substitute for the vibraphone and the bass guitar part can be played on almost any bass instrument. The optional floor tom could be substituted with any other lower, resonant drum available but should not be a short, sharp sound. All that said, both the vibraphone and bass guitar parts are mostly doubled in the piano or vocal lines so groups that do not have access to those instruments should still be able to perform this piece without concern. This piece is also available for SATB Ensemble. Vocal Range: d minor Lead - 1 octave (C3 to C4 or C4 to C5) Upper Harmony - 1+ octave (C3 to E4 or C4 to E5) Lower Harmony - 1+ octave (F2 to A3 or F3 to A4) Instrumental Range: Vibraphone - 1+ octave (D4 to E5) Piano - ability to reach at least an octave in both hands Bass guitar - 1+ octave (E2 to A3).

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1044850 By Mark R Lewis. By Mark R Lewis. Celtic,Folk,Irish. Octavo. 48 pages. Mark R Lewis #649472. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1044850). This piece by Mark R Lewis is arranged for SATB ensemble. All parts get the melody at some point and there are several duets between voices parts throughout the piece. Additionally the accompaniment voices switch between homophonic harmonies and arpeggiating chords several times for increased complexity and interest. This piece is also available for Vocal Trio w/ Mixed Ensemble and the sound files sampled here are from that arrangement. Vocal Range: d minor Soprano - 1+ octave (D4 to E5) Alto - 1+ octave (A3 to D5) Tenor - 1+ octave (C3 to D4) Bass - 1+ octave (F2 to A3) Instrumental Range: Vibraphone - 1+ octave (D4 to E5) Piano - ability to reach at least an octave in both hands Bass guitar - 1+ octave (E2 to A3).

Megan Oberfield #977889. Published by Megan Oberfield (A0.1394420). This traditional Québéquois chantey, based on the Scottish tune, Hieland Laddie, is a flexible arrangement for 3-7 ringers and 3 octaves of handbells, choirchimes, or Boomwhackers. 14 bells are required. Away we go!Donkey riding, donkey riding.Hey, ho! Away we go!Riding on a donkey. Were you ever off the HornWhere it's always fine and warm?Seeing the lion and unicornRiding on a donkey.(Chorus)Were you ever in Cardiff Bay?Where the folks all shout, Hurray! Here comes John with three years' payRiding on a donkey.(Chorus).

Choral Choir,Choral (SAT) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1279444 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Celtic,Folk,Historic,Irish,Multicultural,Patriotic,World. 10 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #870926. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1279444). This is one of the most well-known of all British folksongs and refers to real historical events. It has been used in film and television programs and known to almost everyone in Britain. Skye (also known as “The Isle of Skyeâ€) is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides. With an area of about 640 square miles, the island is about sixty miles long and lies close to the Scottish mainland.  The boat in the song (“Speed bonny boatâ€) refers to a small sailing ship that in 1746 “carried the lad who was born to be king†to the Isle of Skye. The lad in question was Prince Charles Edward Stuart known affectionately as “Bonnie Prince Charlie.†The song also refers to the Battle of Culloden of April 1746, the last ever battle on British soil, fought between the British Army and the army of Bonnie Prince Charlie.  In June 1746 and disguised as a maid-servant, Charles was secretly transported from the Hebridean island of Benbecula to the more southerly Isle of Skye. This is the event to which the song refers. The Skye Boat Song has its roots in a traditional Gaelic melody. The lyrics in this arrangement are the familiar ones written in the 1870s by Sir Harold Edwin Boulton. This is an easy arrangement, with all vocal parts well within range and difficult leaps avoided. There are no divisi sections. The keyboard part also avoids technical hurdles. Your singers will surely enjoy this joyful melody, with its contrasting verse and attractive counter-melodies. Vocal ranges are Soprano: D4 – D5; Alto: A3 (only once) – B4; Tenor: C3 (only once) – D4.

Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1444898 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Celtic,Folk,Historic,Irish,Multicultural,World. 20 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #1024766. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1444898). This is one of the most popular and best-loved folksongs of all time, made famous by Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and many others. The song is in the Dorian mode and thought to have originated over four hundred years ago.  Scarborough (SKAH-buh-ruh) is an English coastal town in the county of Yorkshire. It was occupied by the Romans during the fourth and fifth centuries but today has become the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast with a thriving fishing industry.   There are many different versions of the lyrics and by the end of the 19th century, dozens of variants existed. The repeated chorus of “parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme” is significant. In olden times, these herbs had medicinal purposes. In addition, parsley was associated with comfort, sage with strength, rosemary with love and thyme with courage. The song takes the form of a melancholy dialogue between two individuals who were once lovers but now live separate lives. Each of them asks the listener to pass on a message to the other. The young man requests impossible tasks from his former lover, saying that if she can perform them, he will take her back. In return, she requests equally impossible things of him, saying she will perform her tasks when he performs his. The fact that all the tasks are impossible seems to imply that neither of them have any intention of becoming reunited.  This arrangement for woodwind instruments and piano stays well within the instrumental ranges and attempts to reflect the melancholy feeling of the lyrics. The clarinet part avoids awkward movement around the break. This arrangement would make a splendid encore piece for a recital.
