Flute Duet Flute - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.773342 Composed by Various. Arranged by Yoel Epstein. Instructional,Jewish,Standards,World. Score. 7 pages. Yoel Epstein #4804801. Published by Yoel Epstein (A0.773342). Three of Israel's most beloved melodies.  Â·        Hava Nagila (Let us rejoice) was written in 1917 in Jerusalem by Avraham Zvi Idelssohn, considered to be the father of Israeli music. Idelssohn's research into the music cultures of the different Jewish communities of Jerusalem laid the foundation for the growth of a unique melding of east and west that is the Israeli musical style. ·        Hevenu Shalom Aleichem (We brought you peace) was first published in 1910 by the musicologist Franz Haverel, as a Turkish folk melody Sala'am Aleikum. It came to Palestine in the same year, as an advertisement for Turkish cigarettes; the tune was printed on the package. ·        Hayu Leilot (There were nights) was written by Mordecai Zeira in 1938 to a poem by Yaakov Orland. Though this song is little known outside of Israel today, it is one of my favorites, and I hope will become one of yours as well. You are also welcome to try some of my other arrangements. In addition to the songs offered on this site (you can see them at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=Yoel+Epstein ), I have arranged three songs from the Holocaust, which I arranged and distribute for free on IMSLP. You can find them at http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Ravpapa. If you need arrangements of any of these songs for special combinations of instruments, feel free to contact me, and I will try to accommodate. Write me at yoelepst@gmail.com.  Hope you enjoy.

Small Ensemble Bassoon,Cello,Double Bass,Euphonium,Trombone,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.932195 Composed by Various. Arranged by Alexander Burdiss. Classical,Folk,Instructional. Score and parts. 25 pages. Ars Nova Press #5019025. Published by Ars Nova Press (A0.932195). BackgroundThe Troubadours were a group of French traveling musicians alive between 1100 and 1350. They wrote and performed songs that tell of chivalry and courtly love.UsesThese monophonic compositions may be performed as unaccompanied solos, or may be used as studies. These songs are great for practice in phrasing, articulation, or musicality. There are no rhythms or dynamics, so the performer is forced to create their own interpretation and musicality. It is also important to know that these songs were originally sung, and lyrics (in Old Occitan language) exist for every song.
