People and advances mentioned are Christopher Columbus's proof the Earth is round; Thomas Edison's phonograph; Guglielmo Marconi's wireless telegraphy; the Wright brothers's first flight; the Rockefeller Center; Eli Whitney's cotton gin; Robert Fulton's North River Steamboat; Milton S. Hershey's Hershey bar chocolate; and Henry Ford's Tin Lizzy Model T car.

Thanks, John.   This song began life in 1930 as a nine-bar phrase with the working title There's No Stopping Me Now.  Its title phrase Nice work if you can get it came from an English magazine.  It was one of nine songs the Gershwin brothers wrote for the movie A Damsel in Distress in which it was performed by Fred Astaire with backing vocals by The Stafford Sisters.  The song was published in 1937.  The first jazz recording of the work was by Tommy Dorsey three weeks after the release of the film.  The song was recorded by many jazz singers and adopted by bebop instrumentalists; Jerry Newman recorded pianist Thelonious Monk performing the tune in 1941 at Minton's Playhouse, a nightclub closely connected with early bebop, and he subsequently recorded it several times.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1391271

By Various. By Dorothy Fields and Jerome Kern. Arranged by Martyn Clive Johnson (aka Martycli Piano Guy). 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Standards. Score. 10 pages. Martyn Johnson #974799. Published by Martyn Johnson (A0.1391271).

This is my version of Jerome Kern's classic 'The Way You Look Tonight'. One of the most popular jazz standards ever written, Dorothy Fields providing the lyrics. First sung in the film 'Swing Time' by Fred Astaire to Ginger Rogers but covered by such legends as Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennet and more recently by Michael Buble and Phil Collins.
My version is a Stride Piano version but owes the tempo and the right hand just a little bit to Erroll Garner and I take it through the 2 keys of Eb major and F major.
I haven't included fingering, dynamics or pedal markings as I prefer to leave these to the discretion of the individual pianist as no two piano teachers would ever agree on such things. Please note this is a piano solo and doesn't include notation for the other instruments that feature on my YouTube video. It was written, however, like all my compositions and arrangements, as a piano solo and sounds perfect as such. The left hand, being stride has a very full sound. Any tenths in the left hand can easily be converted to single notes or octaves for those with smaller hands.
I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed arranging it.

By Tony Bennett. By Bart Howard. Arranged by Rita Arendz. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Standards. Brass Band. 53 pages. Rita Arendz #947088. Published by Rita Arendz (A0.1362700).

FLY ME TO THE MOON by Bart Howard for Brass Band
Written in 1954 by American Jazz composer Bart Howard, Fly Me To the Moon (In Other Words) has become a standard worldwide.  Originally sung by Kaye Ballard, it has been performed by other greats such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, and Paul Anka, just to name a few.
It has even crossed into other genres, such as metal rock with a cover by Mike, the Become the Knight, and played on a Gayageum by Luna Lee.
This arrangement is for a British style Brass Band opening in a bel canto ballad style of Tony Bennett, continuing into the Big Band Swing Style of Sinatra, with a little bit of a jazz waltz that Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers would have loved before returning to the Ballad style for the close.
A great crowd-pleaser!
Duration ~3:45   53 pages.
