The Merry Widow Waltz is probably the most well-known and enduring melody from Franz Lehar’s Operetta ‘The Merry Widow’, first performed in 1905. Immediate success followed in both London and in America, and it was later adapted as a Ballet. There have been many subsequent arrangements of different elements of the Score that invariably include the ’molto sentimento’ Waltz, itself.
