Small Ensemble Bass Guitar,Drum Set,Electric Guitar,Synthesizer - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890484 By Queen. By John Deacon. Arranged by Kathleen McGuire. Rock. Score and parts. 26 pages. Kathleen McGuire #6339475. Published by Kathleen McGuire (A0.890484). Written by John Deacon, Queen’s bass guitarist, I Want to Break Free was a single from the 1984 Queen album THE WORKS. The song is best known for its video, in which all the band members dress up in women’s clothing as a parody of the long running British TV show, CORONATION STREET. It was considered controversial and banned from MTV in the US, but in the UK, Europe and South America is was a huge hit, viewed as an anthem of fight against oppression. This uncomplicated, fun arrangement is mostly in two parts, with accessible vocal ranges for most choirs. The 5-piece accompaniment includes two synths, giving it a true '80s synth-pop groove. (TTBB choral score available separately.).
