Instrumental Duet B-Flat Bass Clarinet,B-Flat Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.529310 Composed by Caelan Chan. Contemporary. Score and parts. 15 pages. Caelan Chan Music #139709. Published by Caelan Chan Music (A0.529310). Duration: ca. 5'30 … And Together We’ll Find the Treasure is a duet for soprano clarinet and bass clarinet that musically depicts a story of my own creation. Each instrument represents two friends who go on an adventure to find treasure. Due to increasing irritation with each other, they fall out and end their friendship. While one of them finds the treasure, he cannot truly celebrate due to lingering sadness. Realizing how friendship is important to them both, they find each other again, reconcile, and share the treasure. This piece was an opportunity for me to depict a story through musical aspects and ideas like leitmotifs, key centers, and dialogue. Two principal themes appear in this piece: the Treasure Theme, which represents its namesake, as well as the Friendship Theme, which represents the bond between the two main characters. These two themes appear, twist and turn throughout the piece as our two main characters go through obstacles. Key centers also change as the friendship between the two main characters crumble and recover again.

Difficult - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q557341 For violoncello solo. Composed by Heinz Holliger. Downloadable, Separate edition. Duration 5 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q557341. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q557341). Hanna Gaifman, with whom ties of friendship have linked me for over 30 years, was a piano student of Eliška Klein in in Prague. Unlike her brother Gideon Klein, who was murdered in Auschwitz-Fürstengrube, Eliška Klein survived the concentration camp. Thanks to Eliška, the wonderful, brilliant music of her brother Gideon, murdered at age 25, survived. My “fall leaf” traces Gideon Klein’s lifeline, which was shortened by unspeakable violence; starting at Přerov, the place of his birth, continuing via Prague to Therienstadt and ending in Auschwitz-Fürstengrube. Echoes of Gideon Klein’s music (the Fantasy and Fugue “one half of life” {Hölderlin} and the Hebrew lullaby «numa, numa schan») overlay my fall leaf, like the shadows of remembrance. Heinz Holliger.

Written in F makes this work a one of a kind good. Rock progression was used in the song. A splendidly good song!   I suppose the song says, although it does not necessarily, but could be a song that says: I am not poor because I got you! But in the song the Man doing the adoring-is most likely the reason why there is such goodness. Help us with your best lion roar, would mean to be adored, to be made more than judgmental. Vocals are: I C the birds, I C the trees, O how sweet they are to me,  I am living life feeling O so free, not a problem you can C in me. To my left I C a Store, I C I need some more. I C a Cat, can I tell you some more my friend, I walk into the store. Cat follows close behind walking on the floor. Candies and Cakes, I should get some more, get some for the Cat I adore. I C the birds, I C the trees, O how sweet they are to me, I am living life feeling O so free, not a problem you can C in me. As I am Walking out the door, I C the Cat shake his head you’re so poor. You C me Cat, I am the more, that you C I am not so poor. You’re talking like you want a war, let me ask you do you own the store? You C the shore, you C the store, you C me with all the more. Piano,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1002836 Composed by Kyle Vanderburg. Contemporary. Score and part. 33 pages. NoteForge #6113517. Published by NoteForge (A0.1002836). I spent New Year's Eve 2018 in Nye, Montana, visiting family and friends. One of those friends is an imaging specialist who regaled us with an explanation of his most recent project, which he described as calibrating the moon. Specifically, he was talking about the NASA ARCSTONE mission to calibrate the moon's reflectance to use as an accurate reference, primarily in climate science. The idea is that we have all this data about global warming and atmospheric changes, and a lot of that data uses the brightness of the moon as a control variable, but we don't actually have a precise definition of how bright the moon is. Ever since I was a part of that conversation, I knew that I wanted calibrating the moon as a title, and everything that came after that plays with the idea of moon themes or of doing big impossible-sounding things. When Connor Challey approached me about writing for tuba, Calibrating the Moon was an obvious choice. The work opens with Syzygy, a term describing the straight line between the sun, moon, and Earth that occurs every new and full moon. The movement starts dark and brooding, moves to an energetic middle section, and returns to being mysterious, kind of like a lunar cycle. Fun fact: This movement's theme is actually a tuba setting of the phrase Calibrating the moon. The Second movement, Spectral Reflectance, is slow and shiny. NDSU was fortunate to have portfolio tubist (and Connor's mentor) Sam Pilafian as a visiting guest artist for several years, and I finished Syzygy around the time of his passing. I spent a lot of time thinking about Sam while putting the second movement together, and I quoted a couple of his favorite tuba concerti. The work ends with Libration. If you were to watch a time-lapse video of a lunar cycle, you'd notice that the moon not only transitions from new to full to new, but also sort of oscillates or wags. That's Libration. The movement is likewise off-kilter, playing with the listener's sense of time through alternating time signatures.https://kylevanderburg.com/music/calibrating-the-moon/

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.913979 Composed by Arthur Breur. Pop,Rock. Score. 8 pages. Floating Home Music #4780747. Published by Floating Home Music (A0.913979). This piece was commissioned by Annette Saarinen for her granddaughter Aurora, who happens to be studying chemistry (among other things) so she can pursue her goals of working on environmental restoration.Composing a song that is a gift for a friend's granddaughter is fraught with a number of perils, particularly when one of the inspirations is that the recipient of the song likes Adele tunes. Adele's songs are mostly romantic songs about lost or unrequited love, so the lyrics couldn't really come across as being FROM the grandmother.Knowing that Aurora is studying chemistry, however, gave me a clue as to how I could make the piece work nicely: make it sound like a love song about the chemistry between two people, when in fact, the lyrics are talking about how our use of chemistry is both responsible for the state of our environment and the means we must use to fix it.I did use my usual trick of starting with words or names, and have composed both Aurora and Chemistry into the notes of the piece, the former in the accompaniment, and the latter as the foundation for the verse melody.Duration: 3m54s.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750372 Composed by Eddie Lewis. Blues,Jazz,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 4 pages. Tiger Music #6624793. Published by Tiger Music (A0.750372). Stompin’ Jam Trumpet and Trombone Duet MTR 0255 4143 By Eddie Lewis Jazz out with your trumpet or trombone friend playing this cool sounding duet. We’re calling it a jam because both players get to play a solo over the repeated accompaniment line. First the trombone player jams, then the trumpet. Here is the first of what I hope to be many, many duets made possible by my Just Friends video series. In this series I am inviting one of my musician friends over to make music, do an interview and maybe follow it all up with a Q and A session. I wrote this duet for one of those videos and we had a good time recording it. I enjoy writing music for the people I work with. Does trumpet and trombone seem like an odd duet to write? Well, you may not believe this, but sometimes trumpet players have trombone player friends. :-) Thus, the purpose of the duet. Trumpet Pro Skill Level The highest note in the trumpet part is B natural. The rhythms are also just a little complicated. That’s why we put this at the Trumpet Pro level. We recorded it the same day when I wrote it, so it’s not like I was working on this for days. But there was a little bit of awkwardness in the trumpet part. Practice Recommendations My number one suggestion for practicing this piece is to learn the rhythms first. Notice the anticipation of the third beat. This happens in almost every measure. This rhythm grew on me during my trip to South Africa in 2016 when I performed with the Afrika Mkhize big band. There were lots of songs at the jazz festival in Grahamstown that had that twelve-eight groove with the anticipated third beat. I am NOT saying that this composition is South African. I would not presume to know how to write that kind of music. What I am saying is that the music in South Africa has influenced my writing. In much the same way as playing in all those salsa bands in the 90’s did. So, recognize that the rhythms in this composition are very important and learn those first. The rest of it should fall into place after that. About the Trumpet Pro Skill Level The Trumpet Pro skill level is the fifth skill level in our system. This skill level has exercises and music up to high C. There are many other considerations in this skill level but that is the most obvious. To find more music for this specific skill level, search our other publications for the word Trumpet Pro in the title or descriptions. We publish books and compositions for students at the Trumpet Pro level that we believe you or your students will truly enjoy.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1262362 Composed by Sally Whitwell. 21st Century,Contemporary. Octavo. 17 pages. Sally Whitwell #855402. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1262362). On the morning of 2 March 2020, I finished writing the first draft of this song. It was the same morning that the New South Wales Rural Fire Service announced that for the first time since July 2019, the state was free of active bush and grass fires. At the time it felt quite euphoric. We’d been through a lot. Little did we know what was coming just a few days from then, when the Covid19 global pandemic reached our shores. It’s a virus that would kill millions across the world, and disable millions more, long term. It forced us, globally, into a kind of reckoning the like of which we had never experienced before. Non pharmaceutical controls like lockdowns, mask mandates, social distancing and ventilation standards were employed to keep us safe from this airborne virus, whilst scientists worked round clock to develop vaccines and treatments.Technically, the declaration of a pandemic is still active, but governments and people have somehow decided for themselves that it is all over. No one takes any precautions any more. Governments have stopped reporting statistics. People who know they are infected are going about their business with no thought for others. Meanwhile, many of the immune-compromised, the disabled, the vulnerable, are unable to safely leave their homes and engage in activities out in the world. I know this, because I am a carer for a vulnerable person. What this whole exercise has taught me is that people in the world are actually much less kind than I thought they were. Humans do not really care for each other. People attack me for wearing a mask, tell me that I’m virtue signalling and that I look ridiculous (as if I care how I look). I’ve asked questions about workplace Covid safety and been informed that it’s “a bit rich” that I’m asking at all, when everything is now safe. A friend’s diagnosed Long Covid symptoms were cruelly minimised or completely dismissed “Oh, it’s not Covid. How old are you? In your forties? It’s your hormones, it’s the menopause.” The fatal combination of sheer selfishness, rampant misinformation and DISinformation continues, whilst people waltz around spreading a deadly virus with no thought for the grief that will undoubtedly ensue. It boils down to this: if we want to continue as a species and to have a planet on which to reside, we have to stop with the Self Care and start with the Community Care. A choir is the perfect instrument for expressing these notions, through the unique power of the massed first person plural. My wish for this piece is that it spurs performer and listener alike into some kind of action. Please consider the effect your actions have on others, and on the planet, and make any changes necessary, however inconvenient or difficult they are. Otherwise, there’s really no point.Sally Whitwell 11 July 2023.

String orchestra - Grade 2 - Digital Download SKU: IZ.OMW144 Composed by Marcia Stockton. Score and Parts. 21 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #OMW144. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.OMW144). 9 x 12 in inches.Harvest Dance was originally written in 1995 as a piece for small orchestra (strings plus woodwinds and french horns). It is a dance of unbridled joy to celebrate a rich harvest of nature's bounty. In 2013, I transcribed it from my private archive of old dusty audio tapes no one had ever heard, and with the CarsonValley Sinfonia in mind, revised it for string orchestra without winds.1995 was a low period in my life. The pressure from my job in the technology industry was relentless, and personal relationships at that time sometimes brought emotional pain instead of solace and comfort. Grasping for any ray of hope to illuminate the gloom, I turned back to my original love: music.Immersing myself deeply in the process of music creation, I rediscovered not only a talent for composition, but even more importantly tapped into the creative source of uplift, joy, and energy, the source of all gifts, that is available to every sincere person. During those years, composing music was a vital lifeline. Like the powerful beam of the rescuer's flashlight guiding you toward the daylight when you are emerging from a dark cave. Like a new baby being born. Now a great many years later, life now brimming with music and friends, and having put old sorrows far behind me, music from that time of troubles still fills me with the same joy as when I composed it, and I hope it uplifts you.Harvest Dance is dedicated to my friend, composer John O'Neill, with profound appreciation for his encouragement, as well as helping me learn the practicalities of arranging for a string orchestra.

David Kai #708357. Published by David Kai (A0.1105110). A song for Good Friday. Scripture reference: John 15:13. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. NO GREATER LOVE words and music by David Kai ©1985 A chilly wind blows upon Calvary's hill, the sky is as dark as the night, the sweat and the blood trickle down to the ground, as the townspeople gaze at the sight, And the hands that once held the children near are nailed onto the tree, Why did you have to suffer that for me? They beat him until he could hardly stand, a crown of thorns pierced his head, and all of that time not a single word in his defense he said, And I stood within that angry crowd that jeered along the way, for I helped to put you on the cross that day. CHORUS For the man on the cross filled with sorrow and pain, will bring us to God once again, for no greater love has been shown since that day when the Saviour took our sins away. For all of my life your boundless love I want to get to know, 'though sometimes I've turned my back on you and I’ve heard the rooster crow, but then you've appeared just like a friend to guide my wandering way, no longer on the cross, you're here today. The Light of the World, the Bread of Life, the Son of God, Morning Star, my earthly mind can't comprehend all of the things you are, but even through glass that's dark and dim, my eyes can plainly see, you loved us so much you died to set us free. CHORUS For the man on the cross filled with sorrow and pain, will bring us to God once again, for no greater love has been shown since that day when the Savior took our sins away. No greater love, no there's no greater love, No greater love, no there's no greater love, There's no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend.

Roger Aldridge #6112393. Published by Roger Aldridge (A0.1071282). Tofu Roadkill is unique in my collection of originals as being the only song -- with music and lyrics -- that I have written. As the title implies, it is intended to be fun and crazed. The song was written in 1999. I could not bring myself to show it to anyone -- especially to my songwriter friends! So, the lead sheet stayed in my music files until Matthew Klein (AKA, Uncle Brother), a musician friend in Berkeley Springs, WV, took it under his wing for this 2020 project which he arranged, performed, and recorded. Uncle Brother has a wonderful sense of humor.  His style is a perfect match for this song.  LyricsTofu roadkill is tasty. I like it with gravy. Instrumental Solo,Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.983172 Composed by Craig Wadley. 21st Century,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Halloween. Individual part. 18 pages. Wadley Publications #4638491. Published by Wadley Publications (A0.983172). Nevermore for Unaccompanied Saxophone by Craig Wadley. As this is an unaccompanied piece, ANY saxophone is acceptable. While most soloists will undoubtedly opt to use alto or soprano, the composer welcomes renditions of this piece on any of the larger saxes as well. This piece was inspired by Nevermore: An Evening With Edgar Allen Poe, a single act play featuring Jeffrey Combs. My good friend, Dr. Brent Bristow of Arkansas State University, Beebe, convinced me to go see the play when it was presented there in March of 2018. That performance by the legendary Mr. Combs inspired this piece. Why unaccompanied saxophone? Brent Bristow and I have been close friends since high school, and since he is the one who convinced me to see this show, and given that he plays classical saxophone (yes, that IS a thing!), I figured saxophone would kill two birds with one reed… or something like that. The show itself is a one-man performance, so that’s why this piece is unaccompanied. I toyed with the notion of including some text from the show. Eventually, I decided to go with The Raven, which is featured prominently in Combs’ monologue. But I didn’t want to RELY on The Raven, so I wrote the piece in such a way that it can be performed with OR without the narrator. I took a bit of inspiration from Bach’s cello music and brought in some more modern elements such as shifting meters and limited use of slap-tongue and multiphonics to keep things interesting. No altissimo is used. This work would make for excellent solo repertoire at the collegiate level, while still being potentially accessible to advanced high school players. If the narrator is used, this work would also be great as part of a Halloween/horror variety show! You may note that the mp3 demo preview uses a cello sound (placing the transposition in the range of the baritone sax, though again, any saxophone is acceptable). A cello sound is used because samples of saxophone sounds generally leave much to be desired, and they are most commonly based on jazz tone qualities which would be completely inappropriate for this piece.
