String trio - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q11382 From the Opera Sadko. Composed by Nikolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov. Arranged by Fredo Jung and Fritz Kreisler. This edition: score and parts. Downloadable, Score and parts. Duration 4' 15. Schott Music - Digital #Q11382. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q11382). The Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844–1908) had a penchant for fairy tales and devoted himself to such stories at an early age: to the character of the seafarer and gusli player Sadko in an orchestral work, or to legendary Arabian figures in Antar, later especially in his symphonic suite Sheherazade of course. The subject of the wandering minstrel Sadko who would rather be a rich merchant was taken up again in the opera of the same title: Before going off to distant places, he asks three foreign merchants – a Varangian, a Venetian and an Indian – to tell him about their home countries. His famous Hindu song with an exotic touch was arranged by Fritz Kreisler for violin and piano – the present edition contains this charming piece in a version for string trio.

Violin and piano - difficult - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q46994 No. 2 Love's Sorrow. Composed by Fritz Kreisler. Arranged by Mats Lidstroem. This edition: Sheet music. Violin Library. Downloadable. Duration 5 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q46994. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q46994). This arrangement of the three-part collection published in 1905 is based on Fritz Kreisler's original version as well as later pianoforte transcriptions by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The harmonies, chromatic developments and even the counterpoint of the piano transcriptions remain unchanged; original and transcription combine to create a virtuoso and effective solo piece. The three-four time typical of Vienna demands a certain, hardly noticeable freedom of tempo without constraints of a metronome.
