This info sheet shows guitarists 4 weird ways to play the notes of a 2-octave C Major Scale:

1. Blending higher fretted notes with open strings
2. 3-notes-per-string legato (sequences of hammer-ons and pull-offs)
3. Repeating pattern across string sets
4. Each scale note on a different string.

These unusual ways of playing an ascending and descending major scale give that familiar sound a wholly unfamiliar feel. These patterns also function well as warmup exercises, as they require a different level of left and right hand synchronization than the standard major scale patterns.

This arrangement of Christopher’s song “Would Ya” from the Netflix film ‘A Beautiful Life’ follows the key and form of the original track to make for an exciting live performance! These freestanding horn charts are on the moderate side of the difficulty scale for brass range meant to be played along with an existing rhythm section. None of the parts have any extreme range demands though they have a bit of rhythmic activity involved.

This arrangement has been prepared in the original key of D major, as recorded. While this chart will function harmonically complete when performed with 3 horns, there is a delicious fullness with the extra low note foundation the Bari Sax provides.

One of the most ancient, beloved, and enduring prayers of the Christian Faith is the Kyrie.

In the language of the New Testament, Koine Greek, the simple phrase Kyrie Eleison, Christe Eleison means Lord, have mercy; Christ have mercy. By utilizing close harmonies and a fluid increase of intensity, Mark Kline’s composition is meant to suggest the heavenl-like sounds of grace in the hearts of penitents.

At two minutes in length, this Kyrie works well in both church and concert settings, engaging a listening audience or aiding in reflective prayer and meditation. In the context of the Mass, the liturgical form used is three Kyrie’s, three Christe’s, and three Kyrie’s. This arrangement can also function in the Mass as a song of thanksgiving after Communion or as an opening or closing piece.

Mark Kline's Kyrie is written in ten indispensable parts, and can benefit greatly from multiple singers on each part (especially the men’s continuo with its close harmonies).
