Where Everybody Knows Your Name, also credited as Theme from Cheers (Where Everybody Knows Your Name), is the theme song from the television sitcom Cheers, as well as the debut single for Gary Portnoy. He finally came up with a catchy intro followed by simple alternating chords on a piano. The opening verse lines, both musically and lyrically, were something of a lament. The verse then transitioned into a soaring refrain that seemed to capture the essence of why people might want to go to a place like Cheers—a place Where Everybody Knows Your Name.

It has one of the most recognized and loved theme songs of all time.This arrangement is a Level 2 piece for 3-5 octaves of handbells. It is a straightforward piece with few technical demands. Just a few LVs and thumb damps and a bit of syncopation that matches the lyrics people know.It's a very short piece, coming in at just over one minute long, but it is very familiar and nostalgic, sure to be a favorite among both ringers and audiences. Appropriate for community and school handbell groups.(Reproducible for one ensemble).
