This is a very known and also one of the most popular pieces by Rossini, which cannot be missing in the symphonic repertoire. That Ouverture is opened by three fast drumrolls. Then, the Allegro that is concluted by an ending coda, eith a very fast rhythm and a festive character.This versio is written for clarinet ensamble and percussion, a rich chamber group that evokes the orchestra sonority.

The line up of the original arrangement is: Piccolo in E flat Clarinet in B flat Basset Horn in F Bass Clarinet in B flat This publication provides two alternative parts for the basset horn line: one for B flat clarinet and one for alto clarinet in E flat. This arrangement was first performed by the Two-Fol Quartet in Italy, August 2013.
