This popular standard song of 1992 was recorded by Country Singer George Strait and featured in the movie “PURE COUNTRY.�

I was inspired to create this piano arrangement of I CROSS MY HEART for my dear friends Dorothy and Howard. This song was their song as a couple.

This Intermediate piano solo arrangement is written in the key of C. It is clearly and carefully notated with dynamic marks, phrasing, suggested fingerings, pedal indications, chord identifications and appropriate musical terms for playing.

The left hand sometimes incorporates arpeggiated patterns made up of 9ths while the right hand utilizes traditional chords and intervals with a touch of jazz harmony.

This piano arrangement sounds artistic and impressive…a wonderful selection, ideal for teaching, recitals and enjoyment for those who like playing Country Music and the music of George Strait.

I Cross My Heart is a song written by Steve Dorff and Eric Kaz, and performed by American country music artist George Strait. It was released in September 1992 as the first single to his album Pure Country, which is also the soundtrack to the movie of the same title. It reached number-one in both the United States and Canada. The song is featured as the movie's finale. This version makes use of a root-based chord blocking that John and I have incorporated into many of our arrangements, we've also included a few left-hand fills to keep the tempo going!
