String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.498087 By Adam Levine & Tony Lucca, Boyz II Men, En Vogue, and The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Jeff Perholtz. Rock. Score and parts. 7 pages. Published by Fab Forward Entertainment (A0.498087). The Beatles -Yesterday (String Quartet) This arrangement will allow you to perform the song as it was originally recorded, accompanying an acoustic guitar/vocalist. A lot of research went into ensuring that this arrangement is as accurate to the original work as possible. There are many pictures online of George Martin's original score. In an interview with his son Giles (see Youtube link), Martin indicated that he and McCartney made several changes to the original. For example, McCartney added the following: M35 the Cello run to Eb; M44-M48 the high A on Violin I. When isolating the string section by soloing the left channel of the original recording, one can clearly hear several additional changes, such as the addition of double stops and inversions throughout the song. For example, Violin I goes to E in M11; Violin I & II hold the 3rd note of the harmony in M37. The end result of these changes is a masterpiece that undoubtedly one of the most successful recordings of all time.

Guitar Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1463461 Composed by John Dowland (1563-1626). Arranged by Clive Lane. Classical,Renaissance. Score and Parts. 31 pages. Clive Lane #1042183. Published by Clive Lane (A0.1463461). ‘Lachrimę or Seven Tears figured in Seven passionate pavans, with divers other pavans, galliards and allemands, set forth for the lute, viols, or violons, in five parts’ is a collection of instrumental music composed by John Dowland and published in 1604. Apart from the sheer quality of the music, it is notable as the first publication of English music scored specifically for strings and for lute, and the first to have used the table layout for consort music. There are seven Lachrimae pavans, which are variations on the theme that Dowland had already made famous as a lute solo and a song (“Flow my tears”).The “divers other” compositions are: two almans (“almands”), nine lively galliards (“galiards”), two sombre pavans, and a “funerall.” There are 21 pieces in all and I have divided them into three books, retaining the original ordering of the pieces. This is Book Three - five galliards and two almans:15.  Mr Giles Hoby, his Galliard16.  Mr Nicholas Gryffith, his Galliard17.  Mr Thomas Collier, his Galliard18.  Captain Piper, his Galliard19.  Mr Bucton, his Galliard20.  Mistress Nichol’s Alman21.  Mr George Whitehead, his Alman(For the other pieces, see Books One and Two) For this arrangement for guitar quartet*, I have combined two of the parts (part three and part five) to make guitar 4 (with some minor adjustments). Time values have been halved, and in several cases (Nos. 9,12,15,16,17,20,21), I have transposed the key to a more guitar-friendly key. Clive Lane 2024*Also see my arrangement for guitar quintet.
