Brass Quintet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1489527 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Multicultural,World. 26 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #1066391. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1489527). Sendai, Op. 156, for brass quintet was started 5 Apr 2024 and completed 30 May 2024.  It was originally intended to be a short composition to accompany some time lapse footage that I captured in the Sendai region in Japan, north of Tokyo.  The compositional process expanded the work well beyond the combined videos’ duration.  Despite some of my somber experiences observing the aftermath of the 2011 tsunami, the region’s resilience surpasses the mourning.  This work reflects the upbeat optimism so prevalent in the area.  Duration: 3:10.

Choral Choir (Mixed) - Digital Download SKU: A0.955541 Composed by Roy Swanson. Christmas,Sacred. Octavo. 6 pages. Runway Region Publications, LLC #5042549. Published by Runway Region Publications, LLC (A0.955541). There was a period of about 400 years between Malachi, the last prophet of the Old Testament, and the arrival of John the Baptist.  John spoke of the coming of someone great, whose lineage would be traced to King David; thus, the person of Jesus Christ is a Branch of David's Tree.  This lovely anthem is perfect for the Advent season, and the arrangement is convenient for smaller choirs.  As is customary with Swanson's works, each part has an important role in conveying the music and the message.  .

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1489096 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Christmas,Holiday,Standards,Traditional. 22 pages. Jmsgu3 #1065943. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1489096). Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella (French: Un flambeau, Jeannette, Isabelle) is a traditional Christmas carol originating from the Provence region of France. The carol dates back to the 17th century. It is associated with the tradition of children in Provence dressing as shepherds and milkmaids, carrying torches and candles to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve while singing the carol. The Carol tells the story of two milkmaids, Jeannette and Isabella, who discover the baby Jesus in a stable and run to inform the villagers, urging them to come quietly not to disturb the sleeping child. The song's melody is believed to have originated as a lively dance tune from as early as the 14th century, and French composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier later adapted it for a drinking song. The lyrics were first associated with this melody in a collection of French carols in 1901, transcribed by Julien Tiersot. Edward Cuthbert Nunn made the most popular English adaptation in the late 19th century. Despite its historical roots and charming melody, Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella is considered one of the lesser-known carols outside of France. Still, it remains a beloved part of Christmas celebrations in the Provence region.

Dario Duarte #923441. Published by Dario Duarte (A0.1337676). Pampeana for wind quintetThis work refers to a region in central Argentina that is characterized by extensive plains and a pleasant temperate climate. The name Pampa comes from Quechua, a language of native peoples of South America that means plain between mountains. The Pampean landscape is made up of grasslands and prairies and is a very large extension of very quiet territory. Visiting the Pampas region is predisposing to contemplation and reflection. This work is part of the compositional work related to music and climate change in which the importance of the different biomes of our planet is highlighted in the face of a complex problem of our contemporary times.

A beautiful piece for women's ensemble that brings out the love of Jesus Christ.  With the text taken from the the New Testament, this piece is sure to delight.  The blending of voices with smooth melodic content combines with the Word of God to provide a sense and a reminder that God's love is eternal with His Gift to us, His Son Jesus Christ.  Each voice has an integral role in the piece's presentation, with a few innovative rhythmic figures that capture the listener's attention and highlight the message of the lyrics.  The piano serves as not just accompaniment, but also at times as its own voice, weaving itself through the vocals to bestow a graceful depiction of the magnitude of this Holy Gift.  .

Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.1070385 Composed by Isaac Albeniz. Arranged by Apostolos Paraskevas. Concert,Standards,World. Full Performance. Duration 412. Silver Sickle Publications #5041833. Published by Silver Sickle Publications (A0.1070385). Asturias, original title Preludio, also called Asturias-Leyenda is a solo piano piece written in the early 1890s by Catalan composer and pianist Isaac Albéniz using rolled chords that effectively evoke the strumming of a guitar. In fact, the version usually played is a transcription of the original piano piece for guitar. Despite being called Asturias-which is the name of a northern region of Spain the piece powerfully evokes the distinctive flamenco, or gypsy, music of Andalusia, the southernmost region of the country.  Written while he was living outside his homeland, it was intended to conjure the Alhambra, the palace and fortress of the Moorish, monarchs of Granada. The composition has two main melodies. First comes a determined, driving theme that builds in energy. A more melancholy middle section follows. After the contemplative middle section, the opening melody returns and brings the piece to its conclusion.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1418479 Composed by Roy Swanson (ASCAP). 20th Century,Chamber,Classical. 60 pages. Runway Region Publications, LLC #1000048. Published by Runway Region Publications, LLC (A0.1418479). A string quartet in three movements by Roy Swanson.  The piece begins with contemplative and flowing music as the title of the movement is Flowing.  The second movement is titled Rap due to its rhythmic pulse.  The instruments each take parts in the driving rhythm, giving the listener a sense of a group of rap artists improvising a song in this genre.  The third movement returns to a slow and contemplative feel before suddenly changing into a rhythmic figure characterized by triplets surrounded by eighth notes that compliment the melodic tune in the other instruments.  String players will love playing this piece for their audiences!
