Cello Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.900305 By Billie Eilish. By Finneas O Connell, Finneas O'Connell, Grant William Russell Harris, Joshua Karpeh, and Matthew Tyler Musto. Arranged by Liz Lee - Cellomoji. Pop. Individual part. 3 pages. Cellomoji #4719729. Published by Cellomoji (A0.900305). Billie Eilish is the hot new artist out right now. Here is one of her songs Ocean Eyes. I based this version off of the 2017 EP album don't smile at me. This does get into the upper regions of the cello and is good practice for reading some tenor clef. The rhythm seems a bit odd, but be sure to double-check things by sub-dividing as well as listening to the track to hear how you can match her voice. Enjoy playing with the recording as well since it is written out with the same notes. (Keep in mind if this version seems tricky I put out an easier version where the notes are placed down an octave)Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cellomojiQuestions?: liz@cellomoji.com.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.936158 Composed by Anonymous. Arranged by Giuseppe Di Bianco. A Cappella,Folk,Standards. Octavo. 11 pages. Giuseppe Di Bianco #5303705. Published by Giuseppe Di Bianco (A0.936158). La Fiera de Mast’Andrea (Mast’Andrea fair) is a lively Neapolitan folk song, published in 1845 by Girard & Co. and also found in the collection Florimo da camera and Vincenzo De Meglio's collection, Eco di Napoli, in a lively tarantella rhythm. The structure of the piece, of great strength and narrative liveliness, falls within the tradition of the so-called cumulative songs, present in various regions of Italy, in which each strophe has added the elements listed in the previous stanzas, up to a long tongue twister. The text lists the purchase of a series of musical instruments (bells, tambourine, violin and the traditional calascione) and some weapons (rifle, cannon, and pistol), whose sound is reproduced onomatopoeically in the song, like a nursery rhyme, with the imitations of instruments: the bell, the tambourine, then the violin, the calascione, etc.SATB, divisi, a cappella - 11 pages - Duration time: 4'00 ca.

Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.899135 Composed by Alban Berg. Arranged by Rod Whittle. 20th Century. Individual part. 3 pages. Maggie Creek Music #3874077. Published by Maggie Creek Music (A0.899135). For solo classical guitar; 3 ppAlban Berg 1885 -1935 Berg was a student of Arnold Schoenberg, and came to prominence with compositions using the atonalism of that school. He incorporated chromaticism and an absence of tonality into his compositions with complete facility, if not to public acclaim. His creativity was interrupted by World War 1, during which he served in the Austrian Army. He returned to composition as a champion of modern music, with his opera Wozzeck (1923) bringing both fame and notoriety. He died of blood poisoning in 1935. Over the past century dissonance increased in the compositions of serious music to a point where the semitones had equal value, which is harmonically a kind of wall. Berg was an early innovator. However, if when strictly followed such serialism reaches an ultimate dissonance that effectively sees off melody and harmony as emotional and structural entities, that still leaves elements around form, dynamics and rhythm for the purposes of expression, and these together with adroit note selection prove to be surprisingly potent for articulation and cohesion. The Lyric Suite (1927), which uses Schoenberg's twelve-tone technique, is a case in point. The very name seems incongruous for an atonal work, yet lyric it is, and if the forms used are necessarily masked by the characteristics of serial writing they are not eliminated by them. In this excerpt a rondo form is used with the principle subject repeated on the third page (noted in the score) after a digression to more remote regions than this form usually adopts, due to the atonality.   As well, Berg's writing is rarely purely atonal. In fact the integration of consonant elements are one of the music's most alluring features. It would be so easy, one feels, for melodic material to coagulate the mix, but in his hands the very opposite is generated, an increased clarity of mood. The music remains consistent, as it should, and the incorporation of (often only relatively) thematic material, if often arresting after so much dissonance, doesn't always always mean less intensity or gloom. It is simply effective, either way. Having said all that, it can hardly be denied that the substance of atonality (dissonance, clashing semitones, unharmonic bass) gives it a special suitability to express dark outlooks, and Berg is the author of Wozzeck and Lulu, no downtown musicals. It is hard to determine if Berg chose atonality because it could deliver the angst or because he was bored with obvious forms and romanticism. Probably both.

Woodwind Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1013010 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Na-Mara. Celtic,Folk,World. 1 pages. Na-Mara #5778645. Published by Na-Mara (A0.1013010). Danza Queimada: this traditional folk tune from Asturias (Spain) is arranged for two melody instruments and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara.A ‘danza’ is a circle dance in two-time. Written in the the key of G, Danza Queimada can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. We came across this particular tune played by the Asturian band Niundes from their album Enxamás Ye Pa Siempres. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played andante or at a moderate speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes for a nice interplay between the melody instruments. Make sure the top line sings above the second line in the B section. As it is a dance–like tune, so try to keep the tempo even. The guitar accompaniment can be played with strummed chords.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. They have also used it alongside other tunes in workshops as a teaching and learning resource, introducing players to tunes from different parts of the Celtic world.Recordings of this and other tunes on SMP can be found on Na-Mara’s albums ‘Sisters & Brothers’, ‘Navajos & Pirates’ and ‘The Bite’Na-Mara have built an enviable reputation for fine story-telling and musicianship. They have performed in venues and festivals in the UK, Europe and China, and on BBC Radio 4, and a plethora of internet and local radio stations. They have consistently delivered new and exciting material to audiences.  This includes their own take on traditional tunes from Brittany, France, Ireland, and the Spanish Celtic regions of Asturias and Galicia.Rob Garcia:  mandolin, octave mandola, classical guitar & backing vocalsPaul McNamara: guitar & lead vocals Web site: http://www.na-mara.com/

Muiñeira de Boal: this traditional folk tune from Galicia (Spain) is arranged for two melody instruments and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. A jig-like dance tune, written in 6/8 in the Key of G, Muiñeira de Boal  can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played at andante or at a medium fast or allegro speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. The double stops can be played on the mandolin or violin, flute etc can play one of the two notes. The last part is in unison and builds up the energy of the repeated A section for the last time – it is fun to speed up and end with a flourish, apart from that, try to keep the tempo even throughout. The guitar accompaniment should be played energetically with strummed chords. When we play this tune live we play it as the last tune of a three-part set, starting with our arrangement of the An Dro, followed by our own tune Canberra Bourrée.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1206485 Composed by Simon Watkins. Contemporary. Score and parts. 32 pages. Simon Watkins #804688. Published by Simon Watkins (A0.1206485). A piece for string orchestra.  Borne of a growing sense of unease in 2019 about the direction of travel in the world, the dark and disturbing nature of this piece is I hope more catharsis than valediction.  Framed by six orchestral 'screams', a set of variations explores other emotional regions including sadness, resignation, mischief, stillness, hope and light.  The climax, though also a scream is however one of more defiance than frustration. If all that doesn't sound too gloomy, string orchestras of mixed capabilities might find this an enjoyable challenge!  Parts can be made available separately on this site.
