Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.723122 Composed by Miguel Rios Toledano. Arranged by Joel Jacklich (ASCAP). Folk,Latin,Romantic Period,World. Score and parts. 48 pages. Joel Jacklich #2075453. Published by Joel Jacklich (A0.723122). NOTE: Full Score is formatted for 11x17. Aires Nacionales Mexicanos, Op. 558, is a potpourri by the nineteenth-century Mexican bandmaster and composer Miguel Rios Toledano. It was written sometime during the presidency of Porfirio Diaz (r. 1876-1911) to whom the work was dedicated. The introduction to the twenty-five minute work (which features more than forty traditional regional songs and dances from Mexico) begins with the Himno Nacional in an instrumental version (Chorus, Stanza, Chorus). By Mexican law and custom (although this law is not applicable in the rest of the world where the Himno Nacional is considered in the public domain), in order to perform the Himno Nacional (even in this case as part of a larger orchestral work), permission must be obtained. In the second chapter of the Mexican Law on the National Arms, Flag, and Anthem (Ley sobre el Escudo, la Bandera y los Himnos Nacionales), it states that if the anthem is played outside of Mexico, Article 48 requires that the Secretary of External Relations (Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores), through proper channels, must grant permission for the national anthem to be played and will also ensure that the anthem is performed with dignity and is not sung for commercial purposes. In the spirit of this law, and for good international relations, it is recommended that when performing the entire work, it would be good form to contact the nearest Mexican Consulate to see about obtaining permission. Should permission not be received, a cut has been indicated in the music from the first beat of measure 2 to the second beat of measure 42 to eliminate the Himno Nacional portion from the performance. At the time the work was written, the Himno Nacional was not quite so closely monitored, hence its inclusion in this work and its common accepted performance a century ago. This arrangement for full orchestra was made from an original piano version by Miguel Rios Toldano. The orchestration was made for a concert in celebration of Cinco de Mayo by the Imperial Valley Symphony on May 5, 2012. The score is formatted for 11x17 paper. The parts (found separately) are in standard letter page format (8-1/2x11).

Choral Choir,Choral (SA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1395757 By Gerda Blok-Wilson. By Gerda Blok-Wilson. 21st Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Halloween,Instructional. 16 pages. CanSing #979129. Published by CanSing (A0.1395757). Gerda Blok-Wilson’s new composition of Emily Dickinson’s “There Came a Wind Like a Bugle†is a lively setting for SA voices with piano accompaniment. It portrays the arrival of a powerful wind and tells of its effects on the surroundings and impending disaster it brings. The piece has an ominous, almost supernatural sense that is driving to the end.Although the choral or duet piece would work at any time of year, it could set the tone for a Halloween concert, adding an eerie atmosphere and sense of mystery.Beautiful demo recording by ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHAMBER CHOIR - https://www.rockymountainchamberchoir.com/ Visit: www.gerdablokwilson.ca for a comprehensive selection of UPPER, LOWER and MIXED VOICE RepertoirGreat festival selection!YouTube: https://youtu.be/7elBk2jDogkSuggested themes: Nature’s powerFear of the unknownImpermanence and changeResilienceThe Inevitability of Fate. #ChoralMusic #EmilyDickinson #ChoralComposer #ChoirLife #PoetryInMusic #ChoralMagic #ChoralCanada #UpperVoices #Piano #FestivalSelection #GerdaBlok #rmccvc Social Media informationYoutube: Cansing ChoralInstagram: gerdachoralcomposerFaceBook: Gerda Blok-WilsonTwitter: @BlokWilsonThreads: gerdachoralcomposer Email: gerda.blokwilson@gmail.com for information about individual practice files. Concert band - Digital Download SKU: IZ.CBW202-S Composed by Michael Compton. Score. 23 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #CBW202-S. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBW202-S). 9 x 12 in inches. The phrase Nchikota Omenala translates to cultural convergence in Igbo, a regional language found in western Africa and is descriptive of the piece. This work is derived from three folk songs: Cirandeiro from Brazil, Mi Caballo Blanco (My White Horse) from Chile, and Wsak Nam Tak Nebude (Fear Not, O Sweetest One) from the Czech Republic. These themes freely interplay with each other melodically and modally - often over a seven-beat rhythmic pattern found in many African and Native American songs. Eventually these all meld into a single common-time unit in C major. This composition was intended to reflect the rich and diverse cultures represented everywhere, using melodies specifically associated with children, and how these all converge into the single global community of tomorrow through what will be the leaders of tomorrow.Nchikota Omenala was composed for the University of Dubuque Wind Ensemble in Dubuque, Iowa.

Solo Guitar - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1260598 By Leo Costa. By Marina Oliveira de Santana / Leonardo Costa Dela Coleta. Arranged by Leo Costa. Classical,Contemporary,Jazz,Latin,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 4 pages. Leo Costa #853791. Published by Leo Costa (A0.1260598). Lua Nascente is a work for solo guitar which brings deep references to Brazilian regional rhythms such as ijexá, maracatu and baião.The original and virtuoso arrangement, written by the artist himself, brings references from popular music closer to the erudite universe without losing the connection with the lyrical narrative that makes it sound like a song. Influenced by great names in Brazilian guitar such as João Pernambuco, Garoto and Paulo Bellinati, Leo Costa proposes his own look at the instrument. It brings complex sonority due to the diversity of elements worked on the same instrument. Starting with low dynamics, full of natural harmonics, the music gradually grows and shows the clearest and strongest notes, reaching the fortissimo at its peak, to fall again afterwards, bringing precisely the figurative sense of a nocturnal trip/journey, with ups and downs, in the light of an imaginary moon that illuminates the Brazilian hinterland and our interior. The music follows unusual paths but at the same time brings constancy in the repetitive marking of the bass, proposing to be a reduced form of the rhythmic orchestra of an ijexá.

String Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: AX.00-PC-0017364_VA1 Viola. Composed by Richard Meyer. Instructional. Part. 3 pages. Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music #00-PC-0017364_VA1. Published by Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music (AX.00-PC-0017364_VA1). UPC: 038081518503.Written to celebrate the 110th Anniversary of the Joliet Township High School Orchestras of Illinois, Stone and Steel is a modern concert overture by Richard Meyer that treats the listener and performer to a myriad of styles and moods. The piece begins with a heavy, ponderous theme marked Molto pesante, which depicts the limestone quarries that first earned Joliet the nickname City of Stone in the early 1800s. The mood soon changes and we can visualize huge barges laden down with stone, making their way through the city's large lift bridges and into the famous Illinois and Michigan Canal on their way to regional customers. With the construction of a steel mill in 1869, Joliet became known as the City of Steel. Stone and steel were now shipped by both canal and railroad, and this exciting new age is represented by a modern, fast-moving theme in a bright major key. The two themes, stone and steel, are then further developed, and the piece culminates in a majestic, celebratory final statement of the steel theme. (6:00)Concert/Contest; Festival.
