Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.741168 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by Anne Britt. Romantic Period,World. Score. 5 pages. Anne Britt #3421189. Published by Anne Britt (A0.741168). This famous classical piece was composed by Edvard Grieg as part of the play Peer Gynt, and is played as the title character, Peer Gynt, in a dream-like fantasy, enters the troll Mountain King’s hall to face a great crowd of troll courtiers, gnomes, and goblins. The Mountain King sits on his throne, with crown and sceptre, surrounded by his children and relatives. Peer Gynt stands before him. There is a tremendous uproar in the hall and these lyrics are heard:Slay him! The Christian man’s son has seducedthe fairest maid of the Mountain King!Slay him! Slay him!May I hack him on the fingers?May I tug him by the hair?Hu, hey, let me bite him in the haunches!Shall he be boiled into broth and bree to meShall he roast on a spit or be browned in a stewpan?Ice to your blood, friends! This arrangement for piano solo presents the theme of Grieg’s piece in a tango setting that is creative, fun, and much more accessible to the intermediate pianist. 5 pages. Performance time: approximately 1:48.Included in the Piano Remixes: Classics Vol. 2 intermediate songbook: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/22083336Visit the publisher's website for contact info and some free sheet music downloads: https://annebrittmusic.com/

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.787485 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by Fran Griffin. 20th Century. 18 pages. Gryphon Music Australia #3536093. Published by Gryphon Music Australia (A0.787485). Here is an arrangement for five alto saxes of Grieg's very well known movement from his Peer Gynt suite, In the Hall of the Mountain King. It is suitable for young players who are enjoy ensemble playing. Sax 4 is slightly easier, but the other parts are of equal difficulty, and the work is shared around so that everyone gets to play the tune and also be the goblins and trolls. Nobody has to play the quaver passages alone, so this arrangement is a good confidence builder. It is a good introduction to playing in an ensemble whilst maintaining a constant accelerando without getting out of control.
