Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774769 By Paul Mccartney W/Stevie Wonder. By Paul McCartney. Arranged by Sandra Milliken. Contemporary. Octavo. 9 pages. Sandra Milliken #6021499. Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774769). Ebony and Ivory was written by Paul McCartney and released in March 1982 as a recoding by Paul along with Stevie Wonder. It reached number one on both the UK and the US charts. It was Stevie Wonder's first number-one single in the UK, his only other one being I Just Called to Say I Love You in 1984.At a very basic level, the song is about the black and white keys on a piano. But at a deeper level, the ebony and ivory keys are a metaphor for racial harmony, equality and integration. Paul liked the piano analogy, since you can play the instrument using just the white keys or just the black keys, but to make great music, you really have to combine the two.Ebony and Ivory is available in four arrangements (all with piano accompaniment) for SATB, SSA, SAB and 2-Part choirs. Each arrangement begins with a classically-inspired piano accompaniment that soon modulates into the soft rock feel that made this song so popular for so many decades. Solo options are included and the well-known guitar solo has be rewritten as a scat solo with the option to ad lib over the repeated motifs.

Bassoon Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.969892 Composed by Amy Dunker. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Individual part. 4 pages. Amy Dunker #6385149. Published by Amy Dunker (A0.969892). Emmett Till (July 25, 1941 – August 28, 1955) was a 14-year-old African American who was lynched in Mississippi in 1955, after being accused of offending a white woman in her family's grocery store.  Several nights after the incident in the store, Bryant's husband Roy and his half-brother J.W. Milam were armed when they went to Till's great-uncle's house and abducted the boy. They took him away and beat and mutilated him before shooting him in the head and sinking his body in the Tallahatchie River. In September 1955, an all-white jury found Roy Bryant and J. W. Milam not guilty of Till's kidnapping and murder. Protected against double jeopardy, the two men publicly admitted in a 1956 interview with Look magazine that they had killed Till. The brutality of his murder and the fact that his killers were acquitted drew attention to the long history of violence against African Americans in the United States. Duration: 4:00

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1096702 By Motionless In White. By Andrew Colin Fulk, Christopher Cerulli, Erik Ron, Justin Deblieck, and Stephen George Sopchak. Arranged by Christopher Gingras. Rock. Score. 8 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #700693. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1096702). Masterpiece is a song performed by the group Motionless in White released on April 13th, 2022. Written by producer Andrew Colin Fulk, front man Chris Motionless Cerulli, songwriter Justin Deblieck and producer Erik Ron. It is the 6th song off the bands album Scoring the End of the World and has been described as a heavy metal ballad. When I wanted to learn the song on the piano I noticed that there were no complete versions of it out there so I wrote my own arrangement of the song. I arranged the song to be played on piano or sung but it will work on a variety of instruments. The solo in the middle was originally for a guitar but it sounds great when played on the piano so I included it in this arrangement. Enjoy!

Fantasy on How Great Our Joy received its premiere at the London Winter Festival of Sound 2022 in London, England at the Croydon SDA Church by composer and organist, Professor Janise White. This organ work represents an exhilarating work of joy and adoration to our Saviour, Lord and King. As a clarion call for Christmas, soft flutes carry the melody over a dreamy pentatonic configuration with a drone in the pedals. Staccato trumpets exhibit the joy chordal motif, repeating and swelling to a joyous cadenza on the pedals in toccata style. This jubilant moment continues to intensify as syncopated harmonies join the final verse in elongation on 32' pedals to its majestic close.Toccata on In Dulci Jubilo is designed as a short Organ Postlude performed during the Advent/Christmas Season. The work opens with a medley of Carols including Joy To The World, Angels We Have Heard On High, and Silent Night, before leading to the exuberant In Dulci Jubilo (Good Christian Men Rejoice)! White's arrangement of In Dulci Jubilo, a 1328 German Chorale theme is combined with the magnificent accompaniment of Charles-Marie Widor's famous Toccata from Symphony No. 5 (1879). It appears in 6/8 meter as opposed to the original 4/2 meter.  Tritonic interludes intercept the flow of the German Carol alternately, propelling the music to its rousing end

Soprano voice and tenor voice soli, SATB choir unaccompanied - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8323-E Composed by David Conte. Advanced/Collegiate. Secular, 21st Century, Americana, Children, Creation/Nature, Hope/Assurance. Instrument part. 9 pages. Duration 5 minutes, 42 seconds. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8323-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8323-E). UPC: 600313483233. English. The three a cappella choral pieces that comprise “A Whitman Triptych†were composed between 2012 and 2014. O Setting Sun was commissioned by the Madison Chamber Choir, Madison, Wisconsin, Anthony Cao, conductor, and was premiered on April 20th, 2012. “What is the Grass†was composed for Cappella SF, Ragnar Bohlin, conductor, and is being premiered on tonight’s concert. Facing West was commissioned in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge by the International Orange Chorale, Zane Fiala, conductor, and was premiered on May 27th, 2012. I first set Whitman to music in 1986,when I adapted part of “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloomed†as the basis for my composition “Invocation and Dance.†I went on to set “Good-Bye, My Fancy†for Male Chorus and Soprano Saxophone in 1992, and “Song of the Open Road†for Mixed Chorus and Piano in 2004. Like so many composers, I have found the visionary quality of Whitman’s verse inspiring; the vigor and intensity of the poetry seem naturally to draw out music. Facing West is drawn from the Children of Adam book from Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. The full title of the poem is Facing West From California's Shores. Though Whitman never visited California, his biographer Justin Kaplan made the insightful observation that he imagined California's shores to be the starting point for a journey through time and culture. Here was Walt, 'a child, very old,' facing home again, looking over to it, joyous, as after long travel, growth, and sleep, asking: 'But where is what I started for, so long ago?/And why is it yet unfound?' The invitation from the International Orange Chorale to compose a piece in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge led me easily and naturally to this great poem. The tone of Facing West is rich and complex, and draws on one of Whitman's favorite themes of using travel to distant lands as a metaphor for spiritual development. In his poem, Whitman strikes notes of reflection, of longing for adventure, and ultimately ends with a question. The continuing relevance of this question is for me beautifully addressed by the contemporary American writer Edmund White in his 1980 book States of Desire. To paraphrase somewhat, White writes: California is where dreams may come true, and the problem it presents is whether, after all, we wanted these particular dreams to be fulfilled - or would we have preferred others? Did we know what price these dreams would exact? Did we anticipate the ways in which they would unsuit us for the business of daily life? Or should our notion of daily life itself be transformed? For Americans, California's coast is as far as one can go in establishing new roots and new ways of living. As a transplanted Midwesterner who has made California his home for nearly three decades, I experience the Golden Gate Bridge as a beautiful monument to the aspirations and dreams of a restless and inventive people, qualities that Whitman's poem captures perfectly. -David ConteDuration: 5:42

Organ - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q45183 Martin Luther. Composed by Enjott Schneider. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 24 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q45183. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q45183). On the occasion of the quincentenary of Reformation Day in 2017, the composer Enjott Schneider thoroughly studied Martin Luther the individual and all his contradictions. The result is a brilliant, demanding organ symphony which is perfect for concerts on the subject of Reformation and Martin Luther. The composer describes the five movements of the symphony as follows: '1st movement: Wir glauben all an einen Gott with its quintuplet-like beginning is very Gregorian in style, outlining the range of Lutheran emotionalism between the Middle Ages and the modern era. The irrationality of faith ultimately has priority over any thought and evidence. At the beginning of the movement, sounds of knocking on wood remind of the nailing of the Ninety-Five Theses to the doors of churches in Wittenberg. The chorale melody sometimes hides with an almost rough medieval saltarello, referring to Luther's robustness and vitality with which he knew to carry away even common people. 2nd movement: In 1530, the electoral prince of Saxony presented to Luther at Coburg Castle the golden signet ring with the Luther rose which became the symbol of his theology of grace. A white heart with black cross is fixed on a five-petalled rose. To him, white is the colour of angels and ghosts, black stands for the pain of crucification: The just shall live by faith, but by faith in the Crucified. But the fact that the rose and the heart are the dominating symbols shows how Catholic Marian piety remained an ingredient of Luther's spirituality throughout his life. In line with the dominant five-petal structure of the rose, this movement was composed, to a large extent, in accordance with the floating, lyrical rhythm in 5/8 time. 3rd movement: The omnipresence of death and dying – from the plague and war to the never-ending dangers of daily life – was an essential part of the world view of that time. Fears ensued that might heighten into the grotesque, e.g. in the pictures of Hieronymus Bosch. The Danse macabre was a popular motif in those years. Luther's chorale Mitten wir im Leben sind / mit dem Tod umfangen from 1524 (Enchiridion from Erfurt) is based on the Gregorian chant Media vita in morte sumus created in France around 750 and, with its idea of transience, inspired a simplistic air. 4th movement: The famous confession delivered at the Diet of Worms in 1521, I stand here and can say no more. God help me. Amen, are not Luther's words but the version later used as text for a pamphlet. However, it represents quite plainly the straightforwardness and inevitability of his mission. Musically, it was made into a perpetuum mobile, i.e. a dogged, ostinato and never-ending musical air. 5th movement: The Mighty Fortress, on the other hand, is one of the great symbols of Martin Luther which, with its shining C major key, embodies the Protestant ideology and willful nature of the Reformation unlike any other song. Heinrich Heine called it the Marseille anthem of the Reformation, Friedrich Engels the Marseillaise of the Peasants' Wars. This disputability is not thought through to the end but rather interrupted: With a jubilant birdcall version of the melody, the finale shows a rather chamber-music-like side of the ideals of freedom of Christians.'.

Cello solo - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.1.3412-E Composed by David Ashley White. Secular, 20th Century. Instrument part. 15 pages. Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #1.3412-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.1.3412-E). I composed Four Impressions for the American cellist, Terry King, currently on the faculty of the Longy School of Music in Boston. The piece was originally titled Green Lake: Four Impressions, after the Green Lake Music Festival in Wisconsin, where Terry performed the work in July 1988. A longtime supporter of new music, Terry was for many years a member of the Mirecourt Trio, in residence at Grinnell College in Iowa. He and his colleagues, Kenneth Goldsmith, violin, and John Jensen, piano, commissioned a great deal of new music for piano trio, including my Elegy and Exaltation (1982), which they frequently performed and also recorded. Without question, Terry and his colleagues played a major part in my early development as a composer. -David Ashley WhiteIncludes: I. PresludeII. ScherzoIII. IntermezzoIV. March.

Ob-La,Di, Ob-La-Da  was composed by Paul McCartney and became part of their White Album in 1968.  This was written during the time when reggae was becoming popular in Britain.Syncopation is a strong feature of the melody in this piece. This arrangement sound best with a strong detached touch. Play at a bright and brisk tempo and a steady dance beat.  The arrangement is at the intermediate level.  Great for family, friends and recitals. It would also make for a great party song.
