Released in the summer of 2016, Keith Gehle’s 5th full length commercial recording (Space and Time) is a sincere, heartfelt journey of healing through instrumental sounds and compositions. The album features 11 tracks of steel and nylon string guitars with accompanying piano, cello, flute, oboe, strings and synth pad sounds. Keith wrote the music and produced the recordings over several years after the unexpected death of his brother Ken in January of 2010. The process of grieving an unimaginable loss coupled with writing and recording music as a tribute to his late brother was extremely difficult and at times painful. The resulting work is honest, pure, and for Keith, a healing endeavor. Dark Eyes (Les Yeux Noirs) Arranged for Easy Classroom Ensemble by Dan JonesYour download includes a full score and all parts in notes and, for guitar/ukulele and bass, chords and TAB. There is some debate as to whether the tune to Dark Eyes (Les Yeux Noirs) is a traditional melody, or a Russian cabaret song. Whichever the case, it is a tune which has captured the imagination of musicians for many years. It was made famous in the 20th Century by the great Belgian jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. Several sets of lyrics have also been added to the tune, in many languages. The instrumentation is:(1)  The melody for C instruments (such as flute)(2)  An easy part for C instruments(3)  The same melody for B flat instruments(4)  The same easy part for B flat instruments(5)  The same melody for E flat instruments(6)  A similar easy part for E flat instruments(7)  A single-line percussion part(8)  A piano part which could be played by a pupil (approximately ABRSM Grade 3) or teacher(9)  A ukulele part with chords, the melody and TAB(10) A guitar part with chords, the melody and TAB(11)  A bass part in notes and TAB. This part could also be played by a cello, bassoon, trombone or any low-range instrument(12)  The melody written in a higher octave for more-advanced players (approx. ABRSM Grade 3-4).In the absence of some of the above, the arrangement is still effective due to the doubling of the melody and all inner parts. The bass part can also be omitted as the piano plays appropriate root notes, and the guitar plays chords. La pièce « Lamento et Rock Bulgare » a été écrite à la demande du Trio Ahn pour une série de concerts avec la guitariste Antigone Goni. On souhait que je utilise les matériels de Bulgarian Rock originalement composé pour violoncelle et guitare et en faire une nouvelle version pour violon, cello, piano et guitare. J’ai rajouté la partie lente au début (« Lamento ») car le Trio Ahn est constitué de trois soeurs qui venaient de perdre leur mere. Dans le Rock bulgare il y a un mélange du rythme typiquement bulgare à 11 temps (4+3+4) avec des modes de jeux que font référence très largement à la musique rock. La pièce à été créée au Festival Montana Chamber Music aux USA le 20 avril 2024.The piece Lamento et Rock Bulgarian was written at the request of the Ahn Trio for a series of concerts with guitarist Antigone Goni. We would like me to use the materials from Bulgarian Rock originally composed for cello and guitar and make a new version for violin, cello, piano and guitar. I added the slow part at the beginning (Lamento) because the Ahn Trio is made up of three sisters who had just lost their mother. In Bulgarian Rock there is a mixture of the typically Bulgarian 11-beat rhythm (4+3+4) with playing modes that refer very largely to rock music. The piece was premiered at the Montana Chamber Music Festival in the USA on April 20, 2024.
